MSFS 2024 Airport / Helipad Issue Tracker

I don’t see tall tree at GCHI trasholds. No buildings at trashold , taxyways or runways at KDCA 33 and EBOS . MSFS2024

If Harrison Ford can land on a taxiway, it must be correct right? lol

The airport has recently had a runway expansion from its former 2,300 meter runway to 3,106 meters, here is proof of the expansion

I am on MSFS 2020 (this thread is tagged as 2020 and 2024). Good to know it is improved in 2024, unfortunately it still does not work good enough with ariliners on XSX so I am stuck with 2020 :person_shrugging:

Edit:

Sorry, just checked it and the trees I mentioned are at Horta (LPHR), not El Hierro… there is a lot of runways like that in the 2020 unfortunately - another one that comes to mind is TFFS with a tall tree you have to fly through in order to land… and it is a handcrafted airport. I have been there (TFFS) irl just over a month ago and I am sure there were no such obstacles there :winking_face_with_tongue:

I’ve just loaded FS2020 and checked LPHR. I can confirm there are tall trees on one side of the RW.

As you said, the tree problem was quite common on FS2020 and I also found some airports with this problem. However it was fixed on some of them.

I tried TFFS too which has a very very short RW but I found that one side has no trees (trashold very closed to the sea..) and on the opposite side ,at the end of the RW, there are buildings of a small village and a mountain too but no tall trees.

TFFS on your screenshot is not the handcrafted one I was talking about. Do you have the Caribbean world update installed? The handcrafted version of TFFS came out with that WU.

Below are my screenshots:

And a real photo I took there :

No,I didn’t download the WU Caribbean. Out of curiosity I downloaded TFFS right now and these are my screenshots.. On your first pic I can see a tall tree that is located inside the village…quite distant from the runway. You should be able to land with a small plane without problems..IMO.

BTW ,I believe we are out of topic now…

Are you on PC or Xbox? There definitely is an additional tree in my game:

New to MSFS 2024 SU4 & VHHX - starting in Ready for Take-Off at RWY 13 results in the aircraft falling into an invisible crease with the landing gear underground.

Repro Steps:

  1. Select an aircraft with retractable gear.
  2. Begin at Take-off Position on RWY 13 VHHX
  3. Make note the aircraft is in some invisible crevasse, with the landing gear below ground

Description – Airport IRL does not have two control towers. In the picture, the one on the right (north side) is the accurate location of the real tower. Also, much too tall. I have attached what the real tower looks like for comparison. Just some simple QOL issues. Nothing major.

The one on the left is the old tower (now abandoned, and which looks nothing like the one in the sim) on the west end of the field, near the intersection of taxiway A and A3.

To this day, many towers in the sim are grossly incorrect in shape and size. I get the shape thing, as there’s a lot of unique towers out there, but even in using the handful of generic options, to have a giant control tower at small to medium airports is almost comedic in effect. We see this all over - CCR, TRK, etc. Again, fixable in the World Hub - if and when…
