MSFS 2024 Airport / Helipad Issue Tracker

Unfortunately, the issues affect literally thousands of airports, many of which are used in career mode. It’s a very shortsighted decision.

At KSBN, South Bend International Airport, the aircraft parking spots at the terminal are incorrectly placed. Many are at the wrong angles and also are sometimes too far from the jetways, which won’t allow the jetways to connect to the aircraft at their respective parking spots.

At KPOC MSFS 2020…See profile for system specs

I agree - this is hugely disappointing. As a PMDG user I never even bothered changing over to MSFS2024 as the incorrect airport layouts ruined some of the immersion - most of the gate and taxiway names/numbers don’t even match the charts included with the MS2024 flight planner!

Is there an opportunity here to form a group of people with the intent of making at least basic edits to the default airports (focusing on the “airliner” airports of which there are about 2500 worldwide that have scheduled services of both A320 and B737 and larger). These edits would be included in a single upload on flightsim.to or similar and periodically updated.

I would see the minimum as:

  1. Correct taxiway names (for AI/ATC instructions)
  2. Correct gate/parking numbers and types (at least for airliners/cargo)
  3. Jetway fixes where needed (they need to reach the terminal!)
  4. Ramp lighting

This would only use default assets to minimize file size and for consistency.

Further edits (more time consuming though) would be:

  1. Apron fixes
  2. PAPI/lighting fixes
  3. Taxiway/runway lighting
  4. More accurate line markings
  5. Fences/boundaries
  6. Vegetation fixes

The idea here is not to make payware quality airports - just bring the default airports up to at least a navigable standard and enough to not break the immersion.

FYI, PAPI and runway lighting fixes are very easy. Parking, taxiways, and ramp edits are incredibly time-consuming. Jetways are somewhere in the middle.

The reason I prefer the world hub is that it’s a base-level edit and it’s available to everyone on every platform.

Yes, the World Hub is definitely the preferred option and while it was running I submitted a bunch of airports, but I don’t think it will be happening any time soon.

Using the template below will greatly help the team reproduce the issue and ease the process of fixing it. Before posting, search for an existing report. If you are not sure it’s a bug, please first report in User Support Hub.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: On the in sim map and EFB, airport KEFK is named Newport State Airport. In 2015 the name was changed to Northeast Kingdom International Airport. Northeast Kingdom International Airport - Wikipedia It is correctly named on the https://planner.flightsimulator.com/ map. I think the naming should be consistent to avoid confusion, and also, Northeast Kingdom is a much cooler name

Coordinate or location of issue: Airport ICAO code: KEFK

It’s been over a year now that I’ve flown in and out of my local airport Chicago O’Hare (KORD) and can’t seem to ignore the fact that the Central Control Tower (The Teal one in the Middle of the Airport) Is always gone and have the Old FAA one infront of the Hilton Hotel but not the Central one and it’s something i think Gaya Simulations should look into again and add the missing feature of an Iconic Airport into Sim Update 7

How is it possible that the MSFS Planner website has FHSH, but the in-game EFB planner does not? Are these not the same data set?

FHSH has been reported before, but remains unaddressed. How is it still missing? It’s drawn in the World Map, but not selectable as an airport.

Identifier: CYHQ (erroneous in-sim identifier)

Name: Haines Junction Airport (the real airport is CYHT; the reported CYHQ entry incorrectly uses its name)

Category: General

Description: The simulator incorrectly places an airport labelled “CYHQ – Haines Junction Airport” on a residential street in Carmacks, Yukon, Canada. I am personally familiar with this location; it is not an airport or airstrip. The entry is selectable as a departure location and lists an asphalt runway 16/34, 1,861 feet long.

The real Haines Junction Airport, CYHT, is already correctly placed elsewhere in the simulator. Please remove the erroneous CYHQ entry at Carmacks and its associated runway data while retaining the correctly placed CYHT airport.

To locate the issue, search for CYHQ on the flight-planning map and select “Haines Junction Airport.

A number of airports have received fixes in Aeronautical Information Regulation and Control (AIRAC) cycle 2610.

Description – ILS Runway 10 is misaligned

Title: SANE - Vicecomodoro Ángel de la Paz Aragonés Airport (Santiago del Estero) completely missing runway and approach lighting systems

Bug Description:

The default scenery for SANE (Vicecomodoro Ángel de la Paz Aragonés Airport, Santiago del Estero, Argentina) lacks all night lighting infrastructure. While daylight ground textures show proper runway markings, the airport becomes completely unserviceable at night or under low visibility conditions.

Key Identified Issues:

Runway Edge Lights: Complete absence of runway edge lighting along Runway 03/21.

Approach Lighting System (ALS): Missing approach lighting for visual/instrument guidance.

PAPI / VASI: Visual slope indicators are completely missing on approach.

Taxiway & Apron Lighting: No taxiway edge lights or apron floodlights are present.

Steps to Reproduce:

Spawn at SANE at night or fly a night approach to Runway 03.

Observe the total absence of airfield lighting.

Expected Result:

SANE should feature functional runway edge lights, PAPI indicators, and basic approach lighting according to real-world AIP Argentina charts for night operations.

Agree SCIP ILS 10 is not aligned correctly. PC/store, Stock sim with no add-ons, Default navdata.
