Issue Description:
The “Instrument Name Tooltips” parameter under General Options > Flight Interface is completely frozen on “Instant” and cannot be modified to “Delayed” or “OFF”. The dropdown UI element ignores mouse inputs or greys out entirely when interaction modes (Lock/Legacy) are toggled. Meanwhile, the companion “Instrument Description Tooltips” setting remains fully adjustable.
Reproduction Steps:
- Boot MSFS 2024 to the 2D main menu.
- Navigate to Settings > General Options > Flight Interface.
- Attempt to change Instrument Name Tooltips from “Instant” to “OFF”.
- The setting fails to register or update.
Troubleshooting Attempted (Client-Side Exclusions):
- Tested both on default aircraft and complex glass-cockpit aircraft.
- Performed a clean hardware isolation boot (all USB controllers, gamepads, and MIDI fader devices physically unplugged).
- Completely emptied Community folder / unlinked all addons via MSFS AddonLinker (including toolbar overlays like Flow).
- Executed Windows App REPAIR via Windows Settings.
- Performed Xbox App profile sign-out/sign-in re-authentication handshake.
Technical Summary:
Because the issue persists with a fully emptied Community folder, zero external peripherals, and a clean application repair, the variable controlling InstrumentNameTooltips appears to be caught in a persistent read-only server-side desync within the account’s cloud-save container. Because local configuration files (UserCfg.opt) do not expose UI accessibility flags, there is no manual client-side override path.

Users should have unhindered, dynamic control to toggle Instrument Name Tooltips between OFF, Instant, and Delayed regardless of cloud sync state.f the issue occurring.
