MSFS 2024 is Not Ready For Release

It’s gotten so much better, for me, at least… BUT I will only fly 1 plane, which makes MSFS 2024 get super boring real quick (the Fenix is amazing in it). If Jorg would do his work to focus on getting PMDG, FBW, iFly their tools to debug, then the sim would be in better shape.

The default AC just aren’t good, maybe the exception is Ini’s A330.

My 2 cents as an airline pilot in the sim.

are you using GSX by chance? The only CTDs I’ve been experiencing this past week in 24 is due to GSX – you have to deactivate ALL jetways for it to work without CTD’ing.

I wouldn’t bother even trying the PC-24, as nothing in the cockpit appears to work.

Nope never used GSX, no idea what’s going on but it’s doing my head in that it can go from working fine to not being able to start a flight

I know the 2020 community, especially on PC really want some love for the community folder, addon support etc etc … but could I put out a basic plea for the folks playing on console; it could really do with some love too. Not in addons, not in moving 2020 content over, not on the graphics fidelity or all the other stuff, but really basic stuff, such as:

  • Stop the frequent crashes back to XB UI.
  • Fix the not fit for purpose basic XB controller implementation; adjusting aircraft control response curves should not impact that device’s control of the overall UI.
  • Fix the default controller sensitivity … did anyone test it? AI assisted sensitivity is not the answer, and that AI should not be messing with controller inputs when the controller is using the UI.

I too would love to see the additions and legacy stuff come over, but right now I’d argue the basic game is questionably functional for the basic XB players using the basic controller, in ALL modes.

mean, they refused to fix bugs because there are too many of them and they don’t have time? :grinning:

It’s very quiet at the Asobo front.
Not to much communication about what they are doing or what to expect and when.

I think the quote has changed since my post. It sounds very wiered and funny now. Sorry

@PliantWings5288
I think the reason is they do not fully understand whats causing the issues. And I am not meaning the are not competent enough.
Just as an example. I have a support ticket running since a few day. I did provide several requests in terms of Crashreports, dump files, system config, DxDiag, MSinfo, aso.

And I got the feedback based on all data provided the Sim should run.
If you do not know why it is not running it is even harder to fix.
What should you communicate in this situation? I guess nothing and just try different things and see if it is getting better.

The only thing I would like to see in msfs2024 is that the career mode was a DLC. In my case, as I am a long-time simulator player and my main hobby is simulation, the career mode (game) is useless… however, to have access to the simulator this package comes along… a bit disappointed.

I have been a simmer since 1998. And I bought 2024 for the sake of career mode. To each his own.

I’m not discussing taste, my friend… I just said that it would be interesting if it were sold separately, like the Reno race (2020), which was sold as DLC… as for the career mode, it was shoved down our throats or added to the simulator. Although it seems to me that it wasn’t priced, I just wish it were possible as a suggestion to exclude it. I don’t see any problem for those who like or are enjoying this.

some things i found that i think have not been mentioned:

Ground fog layer that doesn’t extend as far as night lights do.

Clipping bugs

floating lights (again)

colour solarization (don’t even mind the non custom runway markings that are off)
Regarding the contrails, that ar not only far worse and strange in colour they also are emitted in FRONT of the turbine (at least with the Citiation:

and staying on the contrails, they are also ONLY emitted as long as you have the plane in the frame. If you, for example, move the external camere to somewhere else they stop being emitted.

So many bugs, where to begin?
I feel sorry for the guys and girls with Asobo.
I hope they have a good Christmas.

So you wanted 2024 deliverd with no cereer mode and priced a bit less?

According to your logic, then it is necessary to remove ALL planes from the game too. I don’t use 90% of the planes in the game…

It’s going to be a big test. If the Asobos treat the community well and accept their mistakes, then they won’t have Christmas.

I don’t have the technical knowledge to know how much less I would get without career mode. But it would be a fair mode… imo

Did the community just learn next steps at the MS/Osobo developer press conference?

Asobo is working on it, that’s it!

The list of bugs is so large that no one at Asobo will be out of work for the next few years.
