Well… If it’s going to be 2024, then that at least narrows the window to 366 possible release dates.
Yeah, and we already know they have favored that late Summer early Autumn release window for MSFS and Forza titles in the past. So that is when I most expect a release. Right before the holiday release window… so they have some wiggle room to still hit the holiday release window if they need to delay for a few months.
Also, as a Leap Year baby, thank you for getting the number of days in 2024 correct!
Listen to the Jorge/Seb talks and interviews - there will be a significant amount of infrastructure changes …
I don’t care when it drops. Just too busy packing my things for moving to Kiribati…
I thought about it and came to the conclusion as to when will be the release date that makes most sense.
The release date will be when it’s ready. I don’t even think the people working on it have a most likely possible release date. No point getting all excited when it could possible be by the end of 24. I hope we get some new detailed teaser videos though
When are the new Nvidia 5000 series being launched? That is the date to look around.
Why would anyone expect otherwise? Do they think Microsobo would intentionally delay the release once it’s ready for sale? That makes no sense.
I think it will release along side of the movie Twisters in late July 2024. We’ll have our first in-sim mission/movie tie in and then there will probably be a series of disaster movie tie ins… movies about fires or disasters at sea and people needing to be rescued and such.
If thats what they want to do (they’ve already done two movie tie ins) then Im OK with it so long as the basic sim is made to be as realistic as possible and made to look like Earth complete with Earth atmosphere and proper clouds and colors.
I think they will release more towards the end of the year, but it’s really good to know there will be a new “twister” movie, I wasn’t aware of that (LOL).
In the Developer Q&A this month, when talking about FlightFX’s Vision Jet which will be a default plane, while debating whether to pull the current Vision Jet from the marketplace now, Jorg said basically he didn’t want people buying it in September then getting mad it was a default plane when FS2024 releases. That means FS2024 release is not until Oct/Nov/Dec.
Yeah, seems most likely they’ll want to push it out ready for the winter holidays.
And since Asobo takes off the last two weeks of December for holidays, I’m going to assume it will be a November release
My guess is 31-DEC at 2359h IDLW (UTC−12:00)
From a marketing perspective, it’s unfortunate to label a product as 2024 if it doesn’t come out until the end of 2024
All (at least most of them) MSFS prior to the 2020 version were released in the prior year.
It was like that: MSFS 1998: released in 1997; MSFS 2000: released in 1999 and so on.
Well, this is the company that interrupted fairly normal numerical versioning for Windows in 1995 to drop these gems (until coming to its senses with Windows 7):
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows 98 Second Edition
Windows Me
Windows XP
Windows Vista
But nothing beats the elusive logic and purpose behind Xbox naming while its more successful competitor uses simple numeric versioning:
Xbox
Xbox 360
Xbox One
Xbox Series
I expect that it will probably be around the first week in November. That is around anniversary time, and it gives Asobo 5-6 weeks to resolve all the show stopper issues that might come up before the Asobo 2 week closure at the end of December for the holidays.
There may then be a renaming to MSFS 2025
Complete radio silence from Asobo - might as well be 2025. They started releasing a series of videos on 2020 months in advance, like in 2019 itself.
