MSFS 2024 Marketplace Does Not Let Me Make a Purchase

MSFS support suggestions are below. Unfortunately, for me anyway, there is something else causing this issue that these steps did not resolve.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Flight Simulator Support today.

The payment window shows information retrieved from your device settings and Microsoft account. If the payment window does not open or if you encounter an error while trying to purchase an add-on in the marketplace, try the solutions below. Make sure to complete each step before proceeding to the next.

Sign out and sign in again.

Close MSFS.

Sign out of the Xbox app and the Microsoft Store.

Sign in again to both apps with the email used to play Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Launch MSFS and try again.

Remove and re-add your payment method.

Sign in to the Payment optionspage with your Microsoft account.
Open payment options

Find the payment method you want to remove, and then select Remove.

Confirm that you want to remove your payment method, and then select Remove. You can now re-add your credit card, debit card, bank account, PayPal account, or mobile phone as a payment method for your Microsoft account. You can also set up a new payment method.

Select Add a new payment method.

Select the type of payment method you want to add, add your info, and select Save.

Change your default web browser.

Press the Windows key and type ā€œSettings,ā€ then press Enter.

In the Settings menu, click on ā€œApps.ā€

On the left sidebar, select ā€œDefault apps.ā€

Scroll down to the ā€œWeb browserā€ section and click on the current default browser. A list of installed browsers will appear. Select the one you want to set as the default.

Update your internet TLS settings.

Select the Windows icon to open the Start menu, and search for Run.

Enter inetcpl.cpl into the Run dialog box and press OK.

Select the Advanced tab and scroll to the bottom.

Inspect the Use TLS settings:

Ensure that Use TLS 1.0 and Use TLS 1.1 are unchecked.

Ensure that Use TLS 1.2 and Use TLS 1.3 are checked.

Note: Your settings may say ā€œUse TLS 1.3 (experimental)ā€. That’s fine, just ensure that it’s checked.

Press OK to save your settings.

Check that your computer’s anti-virus or firewall is not blocking pop-ups or payment confirmation windows.

For specific instructions, refer to the documentation of your antivirus or firewall software, as the steps may vary by product.

Check for updates.

Just had the same response from Asobo support. None of these worked for me, and they fobbed me off onto Microsoft who just sent me back to Asobo.

Basically something is broken and they don’t have a clue what it is.

It’s really…just don’t buy anything from the marketplace. It will inevitably leave you inconvenienced, disappointed, or even angry in the long run.

I do believe you are correct, in that they have no clue what is causing this, especially when several steps are provided with no clear solution. When I responded to their solution, that nothing worked, they responded back, apologizing, but unable to provide any further suggestions as meaning they ran out of ideas. Regardless of what happens, this did not start happening to me until SU2 was released. Until then, I had purchased twice out of the marketplace prior to SU2 being released.

To note, I’ve gone back to 2020 and I can’t make purchases on the marketplace there at all either.

The same for me. I am looking at starting a new Microsoft account with new email and see if I can associate MSFS with the new account without having to repurchase MSFS. I have had a window pop up saying my accounts are at a mismatch. Not sure how as all three accounts (Xbox, Microsoft Store and Microsoft account have the same log in information. My Microsoft account has no recognition of either simulators.

Enabling the Steam Overlay fixed my Marketplace timing out issue.

This is an issue with users who do not use Steam.

Fixed it finally. Go to the xbox app on your PC . then click on your profile. Then click on App. Install the purchasing tool. Try it again and let me know.

Mode Edit Translate:

Steam in 2020 and 2024 not working

Steam en 2020 y 2024 no funciona

I’ve opened the XBox app on my PC. I’ve clicked on my profile and selected ā€œSettingsā€ and then I’ve clicked on App. I don’t see anything related to a Purchasing Tool there? Just settings categories for General, Startup, Offline Permissions, Feedback, and Language and Region.

Am I in the right place or was it elsewhere that you found the Purchasing Tool?

same problem here…..im not using steam

Are you trying to use a prepaid or debit card?
I tried using these cards but couldn’t complete the payment.
I then used my credit card and was able to complete the payment.

Same problem for me. MS store not Steam.

None of my credits cards are working. And the xbox support team had the same problem when given permission to proceed a purchase.

Zendesk was really no help. Just gave a few things to try and then gave up.

I’m bothered when I wish an aircraft that is Market place only, otherwise, I buy in 3rd party stores…

I’m having the same problem. Tried logging out and back in to store and xbox app, tried launching through both apps and still no good.

Still the same issue, Microsoft box flashes up on screen unable to make payment looks like going to other providers for 2024 products annoying as want in house to ensure dl and they run

If you have a VPN running, turn it off while you make your purchase. I tried everything else but this worked for me.

I had the same issue. I was able to solve it by using Cloudflare VPN (WARP).

Same here unavailible to purchase from marketplace. Does not accept payment method, neither card or PayPal

What is preventing you from completing the purchase?
Did you try some of the workarounds mentioned in this thread?
