I noticed in my Scenery Indexes folder that all of the MSFS 2020 World Update files are being streamed. Are these really necessary to 2024, or are they just being streamed because I claimed them in MSFS 2020? I never installed any in 2020 for regions outside the one I was flying in.

I may be mistaken, but my impression of 2024 pre launch promises is that the whole world would be available to all users, obviating the need for the World Updates as we know them from 2020. Now as a practical matter, since we had downloaded them from the MP in 2020 according to our interests, they show up in our libraries. They may not be really necessary, and I suspect their presence is just an artifact of the transition period, however long that is. And yes I could be wrong about all this too LOL!

From what i heard is that developers wanted 2 more weeks to start with the marketplace from launch because some purchases in msfs 2020 are not compatible with msfs 2024.But since they tested the launch of msfs 2024 for only 200k users at once,well i fear for the worst.
That where the good old day now it is more on friday,
because of the weekend.

No it is intentional. They will open it up in a week or two when it is ready for users.

I was wondering this also. I fly a Cesena Carenado C182 RGII and my Garmin navigation system needs a update which has to come from the marketplace.
I am just using MSFS2020 until the market place becomes active.

The developers did say that some of the aircraft was “disable” for some time due to some performance issues and said that it would come back later, Not sure if they did put it back already or how long it should take, but I guess it will come back soon.
