MSFS 2024: Random PC Shutdowns in Free Flight

After a BIOS update, make sure you run the most current chipset driver installer.
You can find that in your motherboard manufacturer’s downloads.
Make sure you download the driver package for your EXACT model motherboard.

It’s also a good idea to download and install all the relevant drivers you find there (network, sound, and other hardware.)

Use Device Manager to identify which hardware you have. Some motherboards may have changed things after a revision.

Finally, I’ve met someone with the same issue! I’ve also encountered people facing the same problem in Chinese forums.I think Asobo will never be able to fix this issue in this lifetime unless replace computer.

Hi! In this moment, after I turn off “frame generation” in msfs24 graphics settings, no more PC crashes. But it could just be a coincidence. I will continue to monitor the behavior of the simulator..

New information: Frame generation is not the problem. I met another crash.

Now am I testing new BIOS settings.

I think it may be temperature problem with long heavy load in MSFS24. I have new CPU 9950X3D and GPU 9070 XT. My previous CPU has only 65W TDP (no msfs24 shutdowns), now it is 170W.

So I go to ASUS BIOS AI Tweaker > Precision boost overdrive - Enhancement and set Level 2 = max 80°C

Yet no crashes, but we wil see.

I have an RX 6650XT GPU and my computer does the same things! I just replaced my 650w psu with an 850w psu to fix this, but the computer still does it. The problem goes away when I disable live weather and choose a preset instead.. I think.

“Looking forward to your feedback after you turn off the real-time weather option

Same problem for me.. 9800x3d, x670e carbon WiFi, 5090 and am asrock pau 1300 watt. I’ve try to to change parameters for cpu, for ram and for gpu but problem still here
