Seeing first quirks of the new scenery. Probably not worth individual bug reports, so just opening a general discussion.

The World Discovery sub-category is the area to discuss scenery (photogrammetry, DEM, TIN); airports; weather; live weather; fauna, land, and sea traffic.
This would include scenery issues in general.
Specific scenery issues where a user is requesting user support would be posted in Scenery & Airports , and specific scenery bugs would be reported in Scenery and Airports .
The Black Forest also has wrong trees, the woods are mostly needleleaf forest , but in the sim it’s all broadleaf woodland , that’s a little distracting
All the scenery looks very “washed out” and not at all like FS2020. Is there a setting somewhere that I am overlooking? Not what I expected after watching the pre release on various YouTube channels.
Almost all. Masts, towers, chimneys, cooling towers, T.A.R.S. and radar domes. Additionally new data for wind turbines and power lines that will be upgraded with new models at later stage. We didn’t include construction cranes (not planned) and radio telescopes/sat dishes (planned).
Well i found some quirks too, but i really don’t mind that much, i am sure over time they will be corrected . I’m saving pictures of them just for fun. On the picture; The river Seine in Paris filled with levitating boats. Actually quite surrealistic
Great stuff. Hopefully it doesn’t sound ungrateful if I ask about oil tanks in refineries? I’ve noticed some in the UK and Japan which have square autogen blocks on top of the round oil tank orthos
It’s probably because at these refineries tanks were marked as nodes instead of ways, so Asobos autogen didn’t pick them up.
I have some ideas how to fill it, but it depends on some things outside of my control.

I don’t get how stuff like this can happen. The got Henrik Nielsen on board, who previously did GAIST V6 (Global AI Ship Traffic) for MSFS2020 and this was working great. You did not see strange stuff like this in GAIST.
Still they manage things worse than they were before with this Alpha version
For those who don’t know how the SDK works:
I’ve been developing scenery for FSX and 2020. When creating an airfield, there is a checkbox in the settings that removes trees and unnecessary objects from the runway and taxiways. Sometimes I think that the developers of 2024 forgot to mark this checkbox… And this is one of the most important problems. I see a lot of complaints from players when their planes get stuck in trees or houses that are on the runway or taxiway.
