In FSX Aircraft Performance data is available from the Kneeboard. I did not find it anywhere in MSFS. For example the performance data for the Savage Cub are :
Maximum speed: 188 km/h (117 mph, 102 kn)
Cruise speed: 170 km/h (110 mph, 92 kn)
*Stall speed: 62 km/h (39 mph, 33 kn)
Never exceed speed: 205 km/h (127 mph, 111 kn)
Range: 720 km (450 mi, 390 nmi)
Service ceiling: 4,400 m (14,400 ft)
Rate of climb: 4.8 m/s (940 ft/min)
This is crucial information if you want your flying as real as possible. I believe this type of data should be readily available when you plan a flight and the kneeboard would be an excellent place for it
I’ve had to resort to ‘deriving’ the performance info via data collection in LittleNavMap, because the critical data on the planes is not provided (and performance does not match the Pilot Operating Handbooks, because apparently the devs have decided to take the word of random internet people vs the aircraft manufacturers)
I was looking through a PDF of the manual for Flight Simulator 2.1 from 1984 and there is way more useful information there than has been provided with this new version.
Yeah, I’m a bit confused as to some of the performance issues. Not all of them are due to incorrect data (some actually result from a bug preventing the correct data from being actioned correctly), but I have seen plain incorrect performance data in some aircraft. Not all planes are the same, and it may have been based off of the planes Asobo actually got to fly in - but I assume they still collaborated with the manufacturers while getting the licenses to put them in the game, it’s only logical they have OEM performance readily available.
