I am currently training for my private pilots license and eventually for my instrument license. I practice alot of my lessons on MSFS and here are a few things I have noticed that could use improvement and make life so much easier. If I am incorrect or there is a work around for these issues please let me know.
I have a feeling there are other things that would help! Please contribute!
Beyond ATC - Would love to purchase BATC! This would be a game changer for my training, but I don’t want to purchase Navigraph and Simbrief again. As far as I know BATC will only accept a flight plan from Simbrief. The free version of Simbrief Airac is outdated and do not match the BATC Airac. Has this caused issues with people or would I be fine using free Simbrief and BATC and not have issues? Is there a work around to this?
Fix/Ask #1- BATC starts to accept flight plans from other sources such as the MSFS 2024 flight planner website, Foreflight Website/Tablet etc…
Fix/Ask #2 - We are able to back date the Airac that BATC is using… but this might effect everyone else and the traffic they are injecting
ForeFlight - We need more integration of ForeFlight into the sim. Real life pilots use ForeFlight more than any other software. I am able to connect the sim to ForeFlight on my tablet using flightevents. This is awesome because I can see my sim plane on my tablet and kind of use ForeFlight as I would IRL.
Fix/Ask #1 - Create a flight plan on ForeFlight and be able to send that to the avionics in MSFS or vice versa.
Fix/Ask #2 - Have a tool bar add on that displays my ForeFlight screen like the EFB so I can use it in game and view all charts. This way we dont have to manipulate the physical Tablet and dont have to use mirroring software to display our ForeFlight on the desktop.
