MSFS and XBox

I just bought a new laptop and I get thirty days of XBox free including the MSFS Standard edition. My question is I want to buy the premium edition outright I have no need for XBox as he only thing I do is fly (FS9 2004, FSX and now MSFS) I don’t want the upgrade. So I want to cancel XBox at the end of thirty days and buy the Prium MSFS edition for $119.00 thru the microsoft store. Right now the microsoft store only will allow my to buy the upgrade for $95.00 Why? Second, when I cancel XBox do I need to uninstall thier MSFS standard before install the Premium Edition?

while you have an active Gamepass, you get a nice discount on the purchase of the full game. If you were planning to buy it on MS Store anyways, I suggest you make use of it

About installing the new version over top of the Game pass basic one I’m not sure. Maybe someone else can chip in.

Buy premium now, cancel gamepass, all will be good and it will not download it all again, I did the same

I do not want to pay XBox $10.00 a month for the next fifteen years just to fly the MSFS kind of foolish don’t you think? When I can buy the licienink key Edition for $119.00 and own it right? My question I can’t buy the $119.00 thru ms store until I cancel the xbox and do I need to uninstall the xbox version first

You can buy it right now for 95 with the discount, and cancel the game pass.

You can buy the discounted Premiumn Deluxe Full Version with an active Gamepass subscription. Just don’t buy the upgrade.

I think I paid 95,99 EUR for the Premium Deluxe Full Version here in Germany because I have GPU subscription and got a 20% discount.

@usb7777048 yes, if it wasn’t clear, buy the discounted full version from the MS Store, not any upgrades from the in-game marketplace (those require the game pass subscription to remain active).

One more time I am not going to use XBox when the free month is done I am done so purchasing anything from them that needs me to pay them anything at all is out of the question now will I need to uninstall thier standard edition before installing the Premium Edition digital download licening so I own it before installing it

So, clearly you don’t understand which product you should purchase (neither do I). What they are saying is, somehow, you can buy the full version at a discounted price.

I’m with you that the options Microsoft is presenting you with are TOTALLY confusing. But, it seems there is a way to do what you want. It’s going to take more research, unless these people here who have done it before can tell you EXACTLY EVERY SINGLE STEP YOU NEED TO FOLLOW.

I appreciate all of your advice everyone. But clearly, he needs a step by step guide. So would I. If he comes back several times saying he doesn’t understand, please somebody step up and help him.

Thank You! It is totally confusing I just don’t (can’t) be wasting money it is only a hobby
