I’m trying to play MSFS in virtual reality with my Quest 2 viewer, it’s been a while since I played in VR and I remember that recently I had to restart everything in VR because the Unreal engine was not loading the VR mode, (it was a rookie mistake hehehe) anyway, apparently I must have messed something up in registry editor because this afternoon, when I was preparing to relive a flight in VR in the simulator as a passenger, I got that MSFS did not detect the viewer, I modified the registry editor and put the OpenXR path of steamVR, now even if my helmet is not connected, I get the following message:
Make sure your computer is set up for Mixed reality. The big thing here is, i don’t want to play mixed reality, i don’t have any mixed reality, i just wanna fly VR. Why MSFS keeps throwing me this message?
I think because the drivers it installs are required to interact with MSFS. It’s an MS product after all.
Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) is Microsoft software stack used by VR products, for example HP Reverb G2. It’s not only for Mixed Reality solutions (like Holo Lens).
I have no experience with Quest, so I’m unable to offer you any additional advice.
the funny thing is, a few months ago i hadn’t that problem, all started today.
Its weird, i have Oculus Quest 2, not Reverb G2, so why MSFS is asking for a mixed reality set?
What do you mean by “relive the flight as passenger”. Are you using any flight recording add-on for MSFS? Are you getting the same issue when attempting normal flight in MSFS?
Sorry, can’t help you then. It’s always been required for my HP Reverb G2 on MS Store version.
Doesn’t matter MS Store MSFS version or Steam MSFS version. It’s the same program (MSFS) just differently delivered.
i copied this on the register check Active Runtime: C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-runtime\oculus_openxr_64.json
When i hit enter, it starts giving me that error message it says “Make sure your Computer is set it up for Mixed reality” , i’m using a Quest 2 not a Rverb G2, so why i’m getting this message?
Hi,
I hadn’t played MSFS 2020 in months and now when I try to go into VR with Pimax Crystal I am getting the error message you got:
“please verify that your computer is set up for mixed reality”.
Never got this before. So far, Pimax hasn’t been able to help.
Did you ever solve problem?
Thanks
