Yes, spot on @RVictorPilot. Thank you!
Try dumping Nvidia App if youâre using it, then start the sim and switch to dx12. Then you can reinstall the Nvidia App if you want it.
Bless you. I had no problems with 2020 until a week or two ago and couldnât run it. I re-downloaded and reinstalled 3 times over the last week and this was all it took to fix it. Wish I had come across this thread sooner in my searching for solutions. Many thanks!
Just a heads up, I switched back to an old geforce experience app and it works very good, no issues again. For reference, i switched to this version.

Really! I downloaded it here and it didnât trigger those annoying DLL files. But it would be interesting to know the version that preceded the version that started causing these DLLs and be closer to the most recent version. It seems that this version is from 2022âŠ
Funny, I accidentally reinstalled the latest version of Nvidia APP (11.0.2.341) and it is no longer (apparently) firing the DLL files that cause problems with MSFS DX11. Although I am using an old version of the nvidia driver. 566.36. Waiting for feedback from other colleagues.
I have already informed on the forum a long time ago that all drivers starting from version 572.16 cause issues if the Nvidia application is also installed and DX11 is selected in the MSFS settings.
Drivers older than version 572.16 will work fine with the Nvidia app - youâre probably wondering why. Thatâs because, starting with driver version 572.16, Nvidia developers introduced DLSS4.
So, Nvidia drivers older than 572.16 wonât cause CTDs because they donât have DLSS4 implemented. They lack the files responsible for CTDs.
I previously wrote directly to you in another topic, providing the name of the file that causes CTDs and its exact path.

So, deleting it wasnât difficult because I had already explained where to find it. In this thread https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/msfs-crash-before-opening/702654/2?
you basically repeated what I had discovered - but thatâs okay, I donât have a problem with that.
For some time now, Iâve been repeating that, for example, driver 566.14 is one of the last stable versions, in my opinion.
Nvidia driver you have installed, 566.36, does not include DLSS4, so it wonât cause CTDs when using DX11 in the MSFS settings and Nvidia app installed.
Hi Ten. Actually, I had it in my mind that the only thing causing these DLL issues was the Nvidia APP and disregarded the driver. Thatâs why thereâs a conflict between your findings and what I really thought about it. I apologize for that.
Thank you so very much for sharing. Followed the steps in the solution and it loaded perfectly first try.
Same issue, it notes error code 0xc000041d. Uninstall Nvidia App and reinstall Geforce Experience, problem solved, and thanks everyone
