MSFS crashes to desktop when I click on Load In Editor!

I have been creating an airport (YMAV) using the SDK for about 2 or 3 months now and all has been good until yesterday when I clicked on the BUILD button the sim crashed to desktop. So I loaded back into the sim and tried to open my project but when I clicked on Load In Editor MSFS crashed to the desktop again. I tried like 10 times but it just crashed every time. So I ruled out some problems that could cause this and I found out that the .xml scenery file in “PackageSources\data” was the problem. I am trying to find out what’s wrong with the file but I can’t. It looks normal to me. I was wondering if someone with more knowledge than me can tell me what’s wrong with the file. I really don’t want to start all over again.

I’ve just experienced the exact same thing. An airport I’ve been working on for a few days has been totally fine until I tried to open it a little while ago. Now MSFS just crashes when I try to load it from the main menu or by loading a flight and trying to open it there.

I hope someone can find a fix, because it’s very frustrating. How were you able to narrow it down to the scenery XML?

Do you have multiple duplicated aprons in your scenery?
I had the same issue some days ago. With 0.10.0 of the SDK there is a bug, where duplicated aprons (maybe even duplicated objects in general, idk) cause issues.
In my case the fix was to open the xml in a text editor, look for the aprons and change the names of the duplicated ones. They are automatically named (cop) (copy)… (copy). If this chain of copies gets too long, the project won’t load/build. So just rename them to something individual or random.
I don’t know if there is a limit of this (copy) chain, I just renamed all aprons with a copy in their name.Takes some time but at least in my case did the job.

I hope it’s working for you aswell!

That did the trick! You saved me loads of time that would have been completely lost if I’d had to restart the project.

Thanks!

What I did was I found out that I had some Bad code in my .xml file using trail and error(Deleted half and half of the code until I nailed it down to the line that wasn’t working). Now all I lost was some painted lines which were duplicated a lot if I remember correctly.
