I’ve put things at a bare deluxe install, so kord and meigs are the only two installed airports (part of deluxe) and i’m testing in the c310 milviz aircraft, the only installed aircraft So this is Asobo KORD basically.
I put the situation at mid day clear skies for purity and in each case after the take off as you turn back towards the city in both 2d and vr there is a big drop in fps for about 5 seconds (with su12)… the fps go from say a locked 45 in vr to 4-15 and in 2d they drop by about 20. (similar drop though not as drastic in the default cessna 172 g1000)
Can anyone replicate this situation… seeking a sanity check as i’m out of ideas on curing it at this point (i think similar drops at other regions are occurring as well).

Just seeking a sanity check (before i start truly fresh/os/msfs uninstall) that this happens with others and a bare msfs (take off circle back over the airport, upon circling back thats when the drop occurs for aobut 6 seconds)
I think it might he that your system is at the limit. Asobo airports are Poorly optimised, together with a big Photogrammetry city, this will push lots of stress on you hardware, especially VRAM, RAM and CPU.
Okey, that sounds good. I dont have the issue, fly a lot recently from KORD (FSDT version). Maybe go back one Nvidia driver version, as the new one seems to not work well with some GPUs.
Yes, just install on top USUALLY, this works. But im going the safe route and uninstall doubled content in the content manager. I would recommend this. So i uninstall asobo premium airports if i have a 3rd party addon.
I was able to figure out how to uninstall the asobo version in content manager, tried just that for now, and no hiccups… so it clearly must be asobo as mentioned, will try fsdt next.
EDIT: strangely on 2nd try this did not go smooth, still a hiccup, about to test fsdt though
With FSDT it was the same deal, take off and circle back over the airport from say 2000 ft or less, instant 20 fps drop in VR (or maybe 10 in 2d), then it smoothes out.
I can be ok with it being ok after this, but if others really dont experience this effect it bugs me, making me think i have something else wrong with things.
UPDATE: at this point i do believe my SSD drive is in some way to blame (nvme), it runs fine with the exact same folder structure on the other SSD vs this one.
Now i’m trying to determine where the issue is. Both drives have read speeds of at least 3400 (crystal disk Pcie gen3 x4) No smart errors either; Both drives are Adata Sx8200PNP’s on my MSI z690 unify-xI board with 12900k
According to Digital Trends, a recent Windows 11 update is throwing a monkey wrench into your productivity, slowing down the SSD. How slow are we talking? In some cases users are reporting up to a 50% slowdown, which is a major problem. Some telltale signs that your laptop might be affected are slow boot times and apps running like molasses and sluggish game loading times as well as stuttering.
Yea I get similar performance test results from both drives but since the one drive works fine n other doesn’t I’m not convinced win 11 update related I guess
I might have spoke too soon, now the same tests on the “good ssd” with the bare bones test, inconclusive, similar stutter suddenly appearing, turn off online features (even though traffic was off), seems to cure it. Seems to stutter as turn towards the city whereas before it didnt on this same test (over and over), so im at a loss for understanding this one, it just might have been random repeat luck on the so called “good drive”
If you have a favourite area you can manually download it so that it doesn’t continuously stream from the servers. Maybe that is why I am not experiencing stutters.
