Hi, new here…not sure where this topic lands…had my PC wiped for a much needed major clean-up by an expert, reinstalled my MSFS, but lost all my Logitech (saitek) controls, except Keyboard & Mouse features. Not sure where the heck they went to… does that mean I lost the Drivers ? How does one remedy this ?
Like I said, I’m a novice, any assistance greatly appreciated…
The operating system you use may recognise the hardware like the Logitech usb devices when you plug them in. So, it depends on what operating system you have.
Do you have Windows are you on an Apple machine or something else?
If you have Windows then it should recognise the Logitech device and download the required drivers if required.
The link in this post might help, if you have a yoke:
Otherwise, this link to Logitech Gaming Software on the Logitech site might also help, again, depending upon what hardware you have.
Have a look for the serial number (SN), perhaps on the base of your Logitech controller and do a search for not only the drivers but also the software for your particular controller and your version of Windows.
I’ve moved your topic to the Hardware & Peripherals category as it is the most appropriate for your issue. Please see the categories page where you will be able to see each section, with a description of each sub category!
Regards,
The MSFS Team
It’s unusual for controllers to require drivers or software just to be useable, most devices are plug+play these days.
Open windows start menu and search for ‘game controllers’. Does anything show up in this window?

What about your USB drivers ?
If their keyboard and mouse are working ok I can’t see that being the problem. Shouldn’t be an issue with a fresh install of windows anyway.
Hi guys, well, on further investigation, probably not a driver thing (as my son tells me) but appears that I lost all my Logitech Control Profiles I had before the PC wipe. Getting closer to the source of the problem but only Keyboard and Mouse options left. Dont know how to bring up the old profiles except to: Open Preset Manager…but then I hit a wall ![]()
I’m guessing the “old” profiles are probably gone/deleted along with all the other data.
If MSFS recognises your controllers are connected, then there should be default profiles for the Logitech controllers that you can modify and save as your custom profiles.
When you modify a default profile, you have no other option than to save it as a custom profile or cancel the changes.
Ok…soooo…how to correct ?
yes, as per your pic
All of your profiles should have been saved to the cloud. You should not have “lost” anything? On your first run of MSFS when it was syncing it should have asked you if you wanted to use local data or cloud data, of which you should have chose cloud data.
Anytime the local data and cloud data do not match MSFS will ask this question when syncing.
If you chose local you synced empty profiles to the cloud.
Also what Logitech devices do you have, panels do require drivers.
Slightly unrelated, but I live in fear of this syncing and losing all my settings and controller bindings, I have different controllers for different aircraft and a plethora of different profiles for different aircraft within MSFS, especially when it takes longer than usual for some reason.
To be safe, if I ever get the choice, should I always chose cloud data if the last time I played MSFS the settings were all good?
If in doubt use the cloud data.
It shows no USB controllers at all? If Windows isn’t recognising the devices then the issue is nothing to do with MSFS profiles etc.
When you connect and disconnect the controller does the computer make the usual sound when a device is connected/disconnected? If not, try different USB ports.
Yes, the worst that might happen is you lose a recent flight from your logbook. I can’t think of a way for your online profile copy to be wiped, and your local one be correct, and you wipe your only copy by syncing down the online one.
Possibly a beta access thing, which some have reported, but staying clear of those if that is a concern is the easy workaround for that.
Define “had your computer wiped by an expert”. Did they reformat your hard drive and reinstall the OS and all your software clean. Or did someone attempt to “clean” your computer and possibly delete some required files?
All OK folks. Got some tech guru in; he detected that some of my USBs became U/S (not sure why), plugged into a live USB and voila…all back ![]()
