MSFS - input devices for Xbox

The console is just hardware with which Windows runs. Many different input devices have been built since the MSFS was released. Many users have spent money on it.

MS / Asobo has not managed to simply support these devices.

WHY?

Why are only a handful of them supported now? Why not bring in the div drivers for the devices with an update?
Users are now encouraged to buy new ones if they don’t want to fly with a gamepad! WHY?

Please support the following devices on the Xbox, thank you!

It has nothing to do with Asobo. It’s a console platform issue.

Consoles (be it Xbox or PS) will NOT allow any 3rd party device to connect to it unless it has the correct security chip. It’s how MS and Sony ensure they get paid for every piece of hardware produced to work with their consoles. Manufacturers of 3rd party hardware must buy said chip from the respective console maker to include in their hardware.

So regardless of the Xbox really running Windows, this is a limitation locked out in hardware. No security chip, no play. It’s that simple. And there’s nothing Asobo can do about this.

You have the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One in your list. That controller should work fine, as long as it’s in Xbox mode. That device was what I used for my flying before getting a Turtle Beach FlightStick for Christmas.
