This is one area that was a real headache for the third-party devs, I remember Aerosoft when developing the Catalina had to ‘trick’ the FSX config file to try and get the inertia correct as much as possible on the Catalina by tricking FSX that it had flaps (when in actual fact aircraft didn’t have any etc) just to try and get the Catalina to perform on water as it should.
