As a designer for a living, I am puzzled as for why the brand of MSFS is not displayed in the splash screens or main menu of the software.
Even stranger is the fact that I never noticed that until you pointed it out, but now that you did, it is indeed unusual. I wonder if there’s an interesting story behind it i.e. “the sim originally had a different name” or “we were unable to get sign-off on style guide compliance from MS marketing / legal in time”.
I’d wager it might be a bit of both. If you think about it, there are no other products that have “Microsoft” in the actual title that are produced by third parties.
BTW - I have a theory on what the original name was based on some things I saw in the alpha - but my lips are sealed as I honor the terms of the NDA.
The lack of a title screen would be a great question for Asobo at their next Q&A!
