MSFS on Steam doesn't start, no loading window, no error message, nothing

One more thing… is the Windows install in French?

I asked for you in the MSFS Discord as there is a lot of combined knowledge there and someone has suggested (after reading this thread) that they should install the US English Language Pack maybe. Basically what @MITSOSWU5500 was mentioning too.

Ah, I remember that issue ! That’s an old one indeed, and that’s a valid suggestion to check.
But in our case here, the characters used for the user account are normal, so it should be alright.

I saw that suggestion when I was reading about various topics about MSFS not starting.
However, on my own computer, that package is not installed (I don’t see it in the language page in the control panel settings), and nevertheless my MSFS runs perfectly.
So I don’t think it will help.

Well, let me tell you THIS:

The english and the french languages are using the same alphabetical letters.
( i call it latin alphabet)
THAT’S why your simulator had no problems with that.

My greek language is using different type of letters, so i guess wmindows, microsoft, google, etc etc… don’t recognize it completely.

(or maybe they just, hate it).

Without RAM?

Even if the user you’re helping manages to launch MSFS it will likely be unplayable due to other issues like a slideshow, stuttering instead of smooth flight.

Yes, I understand.
And I apologize for using the word “normal”… as if greek characters were not normal :frowning:
I should have said “usual” or “similar to english”.
Sorry about that.

Yes there is RAM. He’s using DCS world so he should be alright with MSFS.
We’re not expecting high performance of course

Seriously, is the RAM installed? You’re not kidding, right?
How much RAM does he have installed on his PC?

Yes I swear ! :joy:
He actually has 16 Gb of RAM.

Finally

Virtual memory is also important.

Encourage this gentleman to contact MSFS support.
It’s probably the best option if he doesn’t want to or can’t write a new topic on the forum.

In case your simulator is installed on a separate drive, can you please check if that drive is showing?

Gentlemen, I would like to thank you for all the help you tried to provide.
Unfortunately nothing could work and some solutions cannot be used because it would be too complex to perform for the owner of that PC.
As a consequence, he is giving up on MSFS and will request a refund tomorrow.
I’m sorry I won’t be able to complete this topic with a nice “Solution” message :frowning:

Thanks again to all of you. Your help was really appreciated, no matter the result. :sunglasses: :+1:
