I decided to remove msfs popup manager. But now I see the pop out is out of frame from the main windows. Is there a way to change where the pop out would show up in the main windows?
POPM does not modify any MSFS or aircraft files. You most likely run into MSFS issue that your aircraft pop outs are in off screen positions. You will need POPM to fix this MSFS bug, then make sure to leave pop outs opened and in on screen and visible position before you exit a flight session. You donāt really need POPM if you want to manage pop out manually. This is a well documented issue about how MSFS saved pop out position between flight session.

Hi RoastGnu, I did not fly since a few weeks but last time I was flying (maybe mid of August) POPM worked fine. Yesterday I updatet to 4.0.2.0009 since than I could not get POPM to pop out any Panel. Using the Asobo C172 G1000 I tried to assign the panels new, deleted the existing panel assigments and created complete new ones. Tried also the right Alt Key, nothingā¦
The next step was to use an older version and to replace the new created appsettingdata.json and userprofiledata.json with a backup that I had from July after I installed the SU12 fix. Nothing worked out to let the POPM pop out any panel. This mod was one of the most valuable mods that was created since the lauch of MSFS and I desperatly searching for help to get it run again.
Hi Jschr1,
If you to try manually pop out panels using Right-Alt left click and got nothing, most likely the panels are somehow popped out off screen since the latest update to SU13. You can fix the panel disappearance by using POPM. Multiple users had similar issue recently and Iāve documented steps to fix the issue.
Please see the github support ticket here.
If the steps above does not resolve your issue, please open a ticket at my github page and Iāll try my best to help to resolve your issue.
Hi Roastgnu,
I guess I created a missunderstanding. Writing āTried also the right Alt Keyā because I read somewhere that someone pushed the right Alt key when the POPM is showing the hand icon in the source panel while trying to pop out that panel. Using Right Alt and left mouseclick in MSFS works ok.
So I“m gonna open an ticket as you recommended. Thanks a lot,
Juergen
RoastGnu,
Thank you for your time answering our questions and creating this really neat program.
I cannot get auto refocus to work for the life of me. Hereās my setup with the DoubleEnder right now:
11 inch (no touch) monitor - both MVP-50 engine gauges side by side. Works BEAUTIFULLY, removed the bars, etc. No touch needed, no focus lost.
8 inch Lilliput touch screen - GTN650 (TDS or PMS). Pops out perfectly, touch works great. I just cannot get auto refocus to do its thing.
It worked ONCE for me, but only with the TDS GTN. For the life of me I could not tell you what I did differently that time. Iāve tried messing with the latency settings, both on the monitor and on the addon. I have all the appropriate boxes checked. I set the Lilliput as a full monitor refocus. Maybe this is where I went wrong? Doesnāt seem to work without though.
Again, fantastic addon and a real game changer for me. This one little issue is preventing it from achieving perfection for me; but, Iāve read most of the thread, and I know you have made some pretty ingenious attempts to work around Asobo in this regard. I just canāt seem to get it working - especially a bummer now that AMD AFMF is doubling my FPS but suffers from the same refocus issue as DLSS.
Thanks!
Hello, I started using PM a few weeks ago and find it a wonderful addon.
I am using PM with Space Desk on a Fire HD tablet. Most of the time it works fine, but on at least three occasions Windows Task Manager shows that the app is using 89% CPU and it hangs my computer ā canāt even end task or close any other apps. I have to resort to a hard power button shut down to recover and start my simming all over. Needless to say this is very frustrating. As of now the only plane I use with PM is the FlightFX Honda Jet HA-420; if that is of any importance. Iām running Version 4.0.2. Thanks a lot.
I posted this on the github issues page, but was hoping to also get some insight here.
It could be conflict between space desk mouse/touch emulation and POPM that is causing the issue. Unfortunately, I do not use space desk enough to be able to replicate your issue to figure out what could be causing your particular issue. May be extending refocus delay in POPM could minimize your problem.
Iām also having issues with the return focus. I have it set in preferences but it never happens. Any suggestions?
Iām on version 4.0.3 and absolutely love it. Iām using spacedesk and three Ipads of varying vintages and truely enjoy the touch screen support and faster popout speed. One annoyance, which I suspect is MSFS itself, is touch does not work when flying in external view mode. I have the two Hondajet TSCās on one iPad. Touch works perfectly in ācockpitā view mode but does not work at all in āexternalā view mode. Any chance this is something PopOutManager could address?
Some feedback from my test with Turbo mode. On a G1000 aircraft (SR22) it would alternately correctly popout either the PFD or MFD but never both. Itās was always the opposite one from the previous try.
I have 7800x3D so itās surely not CPU thatās causing this issue. Itās a shame because 4.0.2 is so much slower from what you had in the initial 4.0.0 release which worked fine and quick for me.
I set up my popup and everything seems to work the first time. However subsequently I get a lot of popup windows failing to pop. I even deleted the profile for the plane and redid it all again. First time works but subsequent attempts many windows would fail to pup.
Please help.
Same problem with me. I found that both the PDF and MDF windows popped out with only one pop out source selected. When I created the profile source, I placed both pop outs in their positions and they both popped out again where the were supposed to and in their correct format (PDF/MDF). If I tried to create two pop out sources they cot mixed up and swapped around.
I have had a few issues too. Not sure about the āfailed popsā but I did notice that if any pop outs are already open. you have to close them first before restarting the pop out otherwise you do get failed pop outs.
I am going to write a separate post about my issue. What I found is that in the KingAir350i if I select just the pilot PDF window, the MDF pops out as well⦠and you have to position both of them at that time. I was originally creating two pop out panel location sources and I could not figure out why the panels were swapped positions from where they were placed
So I gave up and just created one panel pop out⦠thatās when I discovered that both the PDF and the MDF windows popped. So I now just have ONE pop out location configured.
Iām not able to reproduce your issue with G1000 SR22 with v4.0.3 turbo mode. Tried it with various configurations (auto pop out, restart sim, manual pop out, swap the PFD/MFD pop out sequence, etc). Could it be some conflict with certain plugin you have for this particular aircraft?
Hi FearlessSwan217,
If youāve manually opened pop outs, POPM has no way to close them before executing pop out sequence. Since MSFS prevents the same pop out from opening again, POPM will fail when the app tries to pop out the panel. Unfortunately, this is a limitation in MSFS since pop outs do not have unique window title that POPM can use and POPM has no way to detect when certain pop out has been opened and prevent POPM from failing pop out execution.
Thanks @RoastGnu.
Yes⦠I figured that out. I was really just commenting to @MediatedMedal94 re his failed pop outs.
I have never previously needed to do a manual popout since MSFS POM.
The only reason I did a manual pop out on this occasion was to see if poping out the PDF directly in the SIM window reproduced the MDF popping out with it. It didnāt.
What was happening for me was that when I was creating the profile for the KingAir 350i and I selected the two source locations (green & red) for the PDF and MDF in the SIM, after locking and āstarting popoutā the two popouts swapped positions.
I deleted them and tried to recreate the profile but the same thing happened.
So I decided to just delete the MDF and recreate the profile with only ONE popout location configued, (ie green) for the PDF.
But what happened was that POM still popped out both the PDF and MDF⦠even though there was only one source location saved.
I am going to note what happens next time I start MSFS again and see if the two popouts still happen with the only the one location configured in that profile. Maybe POM is ārememberingā something in a config file?
Maybe I have to delete that profile altogether (if there is a way to do that) and re-select the location source of the one panel that I want.
No sweat⦠just letting you know.
I have never had any problems with POM in the past.
I was quite happy with the previous versions.
Cheers
Alan
It works fine in same version of POPM but with Turbo turned off so doubt itās a conflict with something else. As I said I have a 7800X3D.
Hi, I canāt get POPM to work (everything OK until I get āpop-out has been completed with errorā).
Where is error.log supposed to be ? I canāt find it.
