This post is not about the release of World Update 16 (erm, sorry, XVI) - because I didn’t get that far.
I powered on Xbox X, and there was an update to MSFS v1.36.3.0 (I’m in the Xbox Stability beta testing, so this may be a different version than others have…)
After the update, I rebooted Xbox, then launched MSFS, and there was a small “Mandatory Update” of about 512 Kb I think. That installed, but it never got past the loading screen where it shows previews of the current World Update. So I left it for a few hours, but it was just stuck. I was not able to even get in to the sim to get to the Marketplace to get the World Update.
It seems unlikely this is server related, since it had already installed all updates, and was just loading. However … I think MSFS also launches a “cloud instance” each time to load the sim, so perhaps servers are the issue (again, and forever?)
Learning to just not participate when there is something new, sadly.
