Msfs will not install

I cannot insatll MSFS2020 I went through the microsoft store and the xbox app and evertime i go to click install it says this error view progress this is getting ridiculous. we should not be having these kind of issues

Can you see an error code anywhere? There should be an option to see more details about the error.

“View Progress” isn’t an error, it is the status of the update.
Is your problem that you are stuck in a certain spot of the update?

It giving me this error code 0x803fb107

The best way to correct this is to reset the MS Store app, and the Xbox app.
Select them in Windows “Apps and Features” and hit reset.
To rule out any other issues, while you are doing that, I would reset Gaming Services as well

and what gives the forum search about that ?

also a newer one:

I can’t get the program to reinstall either, but I don’t get any error messages.

After the game stopped working (again) and would not open for me I uninstalled it. It was a bit odd because after I uninstalled it, I can still pull up MSFS in the search bar. Now the Icon is just a generic app icon and none of the options does anything (nothing happens if I try to open, or uninstall again, etc.). If I got to “apps and features” and search for MSFS, it isn’t there.

Anyways I go to the microsoft store to reinstall. It says “install with the xbox app”. So I go to the Xbox app and click “INSTALL you own this”. The button turns grey and shows “preparing 0% progress” for about 3 seconds and then it turns back into the “INSTALL you own this” button. Nothing else happens. Its just a loop.

I’ve tried resetting gaming services, Xbox, Microsoft store. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling xbox. I really don’t want to have to go through the hassle of reinstalling windows.

Its so frustrating: I bought a new gaming PC just so I could play this game. Since purchasing, I’ve spent months and months being unable to play because of issues like this. The previous problem was the “gaming services loop” that so many of you have suffered with.

DId you have the Google Map replacement mod installed?

All - For the fellow having problems with this install. First some antivirus/firewall things stop the install. If aftermarket versions, take them off.
Let windows defender be your service on this. Make sure x-box and MSFS can get through firewall, specifically allow them.
You may have done that too. XP-11 works fine, as an alternative solution. Once Asobo loses money, they will take the necessary steps to fix this convoluted download/install process. I hate it, if I have issues ever again, this “as good as it gets” mess will never be on my PC again, and I have been staunch user of MS Flight Sim versions since 95.

a bad decision, because you already bought the game  So the better recommendation would be: find the issue with your system and you can use your invest…

Many have said a virgin install should fix the issue. It takes me 6 days to download the game and that is at 24/7 since my speed of Internet is so slow. If you have fast speed, then that might be a go. Some people report Windows 11 is the ticket, I tried it for month, did not like the interface, and latest update to it makes start button disappear, MS acknowledged that bug, working on solution. I had little annoyances every time update, needed to reinstall my printer, keyboard num lock key would not light up. So took it off. However, if the game is very important, try that too. It has a learning curve to it, since they took easy things and made them hard, and took hard things and made them harder.

Same error code here trying to install.

I’m getting insane.
I have been using MSFS from a year to yesterday.
As a result, I uninstalled MSFS and Xbox. I was reinstalling Xbox for two hours.
And MSFS remains at 0% in the installation process …
I’ve tried everything (I think).

One thing that puzzles me - I have no service:
“Microsoft Store Install Service” in the “SERVICES” options -
as described in step 6 -here):
