MSFS20 will not recognise the Quest2 headset

Hi,

Have followed the VR setup in this forum, I can hear the FS music playing when I load the game but when I change into VR mode it’s continually says |Cannot detect headset. I. Can get it to play my sons Roblox games without issue. One thing I have noticed is that when I point the registry to the oculus driver it is in a different location and it also always reverts back when ever the OpenVR opens.

Help I’m gutted it doesn’t work and only my son can use it

Do you have the Oculus software installed on your PC?

Yes have the latest version of oculus software installed in pc and headset.

Does your ActiveRuntime look like this?

Regedit path: “Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenXR\1”

The entry for your ActiveRuntime should look like this:
“C:Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-runtime\oculus_open_64.json”

If it isn’t it might be on SteamVR. You need to change the entry (assuming you’re not running the Steam version of FS 2020) or won’t find your Quest 2.

When your headset is connected via the cable does it show up in the oculus software under devices and if so can it pass the connection test? Also, is it the Steam if the MS store version you have?

Hi,

Yes the headset is listed in oculus app and works with other games such as Elite Dangerous and Roblox (my sons game-honest)
