MSFS2020 and i9 10th Gen 10900KF

Can I get some help, I posted what I was getting at my home airport (KONT) and someone said I was working off 1 core. I don’t understand when I have 10 cores? Here’s my specs and my results.

Unfortunate flight sim isn’t optimized for multi cores so what you’re seeing about what one would expect for that area. Additionally what is your graphics card are you using?

What are you in sim settings?
What are you graphics card settings?

There are very many different configurations so just saying you have an i9 CPU isn’t enough to provide an accurate comparison to what you are getting and what your system can actually manage.

Here are my sim settings and graphic

Your setting look about what I was running on my older system which had a 3080ti and an i7. Unfortunately the frame rates you are getting are very typical for that area. LA area has always been hard my system even my current 4090 and i9 12900k struggle.

Again it comes back to the sim not being optimized for multi-core use.

There is a very good video on YouTube by 2020 flight simmers. (I think that’s the name) which may help you tweak out a couple more Fps by changing some Nvidia settings and optimizing your data paging and system cache.

These computers are like buying a new car, once you get it, its already obsolete.

Don’t get too discouraged…we’ve been told that FS2024 will be significantly better optimized for multi-core CPU’s.

No one knows for sure what that means. Some are cynical, some are hopeful.
I’m in the latter camp. In particular I’m hopeful that those of us who don’t have the most Mack Daddy computers will see better performance with the 2024 version, particularly in complex terrain environments.
