Hi all,
I’m using a joystick+throttle quadrant (Thrustmaster TCA Airbus) and I’msuffering from an issue with any aircraft that uses fly-by-wire controls: there is a deadzone on the pitch axis of the joystick which makes it impossible to make fine adjustments to pitch. Because of this, it’s almost impossible to connect to a tanker for aerial refuelling.
In the sim settings all deadzones are set to zero and the control input dots are moving just fine with no interference at all.
Also, it seems only the pitch-up commend seems impacted. The pitch-down seems more or less alright.
Finally, aircraft with traditional controls simply don’t have the problem at all and are reasonably easy to connect to the tanker (in Ace mode with Airshow Assistant).
Default SuperHornet is impacted as well, so is the recently released Mirage2000 by Miltech. Anybody has any idea about what could cause the problem ?
Adding a bit of info, as I’m trying to identify the origin of the problem:
-
When on the ground, the controls move just fine, even with a fly-by-wire aircraft. It’s very visible in the Mirage2000 for example, the joystick in the cockpit moves as soon as I pull on my joystick.
-
Immediately after taking off, the problem appears. I can pull one or two milimeters, the joystick in the cockpit doesn’t move and the aircraft doesn’t react. But if I pass a certain threshold, then the joystick in the cockpit “jumps” to the position it should be, and the aircraft immediately raise the nose. If I really play with the threshold, then the joystick in the cockpit (and input) jumps between the center and the actual position very fast, almost flickering.

I was wondering if anything could be related to the famous FlyByWire group addons. The Airbus A320 was installed on my MSFS, so I uninstalled it to check if it would make a difference. It didn’t, problem still occurs.
I’m at a loss.
PS: I mentioned the Mirage2000 for my tests, but just to make it clear again, the problem occurs with ALL aircraft that use the fly-by-wire controls. That includes the default SuperHornet from the TopGun Maverick pack, and the DC Design F-15s.
