msfs2024 has the force trim function for helicopters . Please add that to msfs2020 too !! Force trim is the basic helicopter control/trim function that makes helicopter flying much easier !
I believe that is 'Rotor Trim Reset. I also seem to recall it should be set to ‘Repeat’.
rotor trim reset is what it says : resets trim to initial position . Nothing to do with the " force trim" function . Force trim is related to your cyclic (controller stick ) position , you set the desired "trim " level to your current stick position . A lot simpler and easier way to trim helicopters for stable forward flight (or stable any kind of flight ) The community been crying for this since there is helicopter support in msfs2020 . Now Asobo implemented this for msfs2024 for release day , but not for msfs2020???
That is what I’ve been using for the H145/H160 for ‘Force trim Release’. Hold the button down, move the cyclic to the new attitude and release the button. It must be set to ‘repeat’. I am using a centering spring stick. FS20, I don’t have FS24. I can’t say if it works like that for other helicopters. I only fly Hype.
hype has it’s own heli flightmodel that completely bypasses the sim internal flight model . msfs2020 native heli flight model does not have " force trim " function implemented . Asobo for whatever reason enabled it only for 2024 version , basically saying " screw you 2020 heli simmers " …
