Hi @Lgdeaf.

Am I correct in understanding that you want to move your licence from the Steam Store to the Microsoft Store (or vice versa)?

If I am, I doubt such a request would be actioned at this point, but your best bet would be to reach out to the store you purchased the Sim through (Steam: Steam Support, Microsoft: https://support.microsoft.com/) and ask for a refund so you can “buy it through the other platform”.

Forum users will not be able to help with this request.

Another thing is even if you buy from steam, it only downloads the installer and sets the install path. The actual download and install of the game files is handled by the Windows store.

Not quite correct. The package download(s) are handled by the simulator and not the Windows Store. No matter what platform you purchase through you get the same weather, multi-player and events as everyone else.

The major hang-up is to do with licencing. Any marketplace addons purchased through a Steam licenced copy of the simulator are not available to you through a Windows Store licenced version of the sim and vice versa. This also means that if you want Xbox Play Anywhere you need to buy the sim from Microsoft directly and not through Steam.

On the flip side, Steam doesn’t restrict your access to the install directories in the same (annoying) way that the Microsoft store does, and quite frankly its UI and UX is easier and cleaner to use.

Ah yes. You are correct I misspoke. Not the Windows store.

He may have inadvertently installed the gamepass free version, that would cause it to show up in the store as well. Not sure if there are any checks for multiple installs across gamepass.
