Hmm… I am have the “no copilot” selected per Customize Identity. I’m flying the Optima right now and I have no copilot:
I moused over every part of both seatbelts and there is no click spot that I have found.
On another note…
…how does one control CHT? It is running pretty warm given how little I am asking of it for power. It’s not hot outside, either.
I’ve only flown it for a few minutes, not really familiar with it tbh.
The manual shows where the click spot is but I’ve never tried it.
I was not able to get the chocks either. I had to give up and reload to runway.
Other issue is the tile for Scientific Research loads the police livery.
I just flew this at night, and I have to wonder is the panel lighting that bad IRL? The only instrument I could see was the airspeed.
Otherwise, a very, very weird and fun airplane, I’m surprised this thing didn’t become more popular for real. It’s like a cross between a helicopter, A-10 Warthog, and a Cessna 152.

I feel like the lighting is jacked, in some way or another, in nearly every included aircraft in 2024.

I just read the manual, and I see there is a dimmer and a spotlight as well. Will try those next time. But it didn’t feel natural too me how rapidly the light fell off.
As far as lighting goes, I can’t wait for a patch that fixes the atmospheric glow, it looks like heavy fog any time a landing or taxi light is on.
Still can’t get rid of copilot!
Me neither. It’s all that stopping me from flying this.
Same here. Bring back the cat and dog. Or just let me fly the original Got Friends Optica, which I paid for in the marketplace. At least I can still fly it in 2020, which I’ve been using more than 2024 lately.

Where did you buy the Optica from? If other than the Marketplace, you should be able to put it in your Community folder (don’t forget to set it up properly. No matter where you installed 2024, Community stays in that long winded encrypted location, unless you go into the small gear in “My Library” and change it). If you purchased it from MP, you might be able to go into My Library and activate it (which should deactivate the 2024 version).
I’m kicking myself for not purchasing the VisionJet in 2020, I hear the new one isn’t as capable as the old one.
I bought it in the marketplace, and copied it from the 2020 “official” folder to the 2024 community folder. (Yes, I know where it is. I have a couple hundred mods in it.) Unfortunately, it’s disabled in my library and there’s no option to enable it. As far as I can see, there’s no way to switch between old and new versions of standard aircraft, though this can be done with premium deluxe. I wanted to try the old 747 in 2024 (the new version lacks wing flex and Simbrief integration, and generally feels like a downgrade), but couldn’t do that, either.
Yeah, I don’t think it will work in the Community folder. If it’s a marketplace product, you’ve got a bunch of encrypted files, right?, it needs to go in your OneStore directory most likely… If you do that, it may allow you to then enable it… maybe very much being the operating word. It’s highly likely there’s some other settings in the base code that are turning off that model if you don’t already have the ability to enable it without copying it.
Look at how many people are saying they don’t have access to planes they purchased that I have access to but they don’t. I have no idea what’s causing that. I know it’s been the holidays. But, it’s 1/7, and there’s been zero comment from MS. I don’t know what’s up. But there’s a whole lot of things wrong with 2024 right now, especially regarding our libraries and the Marketplace.
For instance, I have access to all my the planes I’ve purchased on the Marketplace, except maybe one or two and the Reno planes (not many, the only planes I purchased were some Carenado planes and FF and LL aircraft, and the Reno planes). With the last update, I had to go back in and enable all my Carenado purchases. So you should have access to your purchases, too. Those purchases that their authors have approved to be turned on I mean. The Optica might never get that approval… I don’t know. It should though, since we can enable 2020 planes like the G36 (which then disables the 2024 G36, correctly so).
(Hopefully that makes sense, I’m at work and rushing my answer)
There are actually two OneStore directories, one labeled Official2020/OneStore and the other Official2024/OneStore, and I tried both of them, with even less of a result than putting it in the community folder, which is to say that it didn’t appear in the library at all. How on Earth were you able to enable the G36, or any other planes from the 2020 standard edition? They don’t appear anywhere at all in my library, and there’s also no option to disable any of the 2024 standard edition aircraft. As I mentioned before, I was able to do this with premium deluxe aircraft with no problem.
Incidentally, I’m also one of the people missing a plane I purchased in 2020, namely the Dornier Wal. Everything else migrated over, but no amount of searching and no suggestions from other people online have managed to find it. Not that I really care, since I hadn’t flown it in a couple of years and I still have it in 2020, but it should still be there in 2024.
And, lastly, I think we can all agree that communication from MS, Asobo, and their partner developers has been truly abysmal, with the exception of Miltech. Yes, they got the sim to work, more or less, but I’ve heard nothing regarding the slew of bugs in aircraft systems, physics, etc.
You go to your “My Library” similar to your content manager in 2020.
I’m not at my game computer right now, but I think it’s at, if you go to the Marketplace tile, it’s either right next to it inside there, or it’s a gear icon accessible from there. You’ll see a list of all available content, and some of your planes will be shown as disabled there. When I get home I’ll look, or others can chime in.
I just said that I was in my library, and could enable Premium Deluxe aircraft. The problem is that nothing from the 2020 Standard Edition appears in my library in 2024. Nothing at all. Premium Deluxe: yes. Standard Edition: no.
Anyways, thanks for trying, but I don’t expect there’s anything you can do. This is a Microsoft issue.
It’s a strange bird, but I really like it in VR, great view out of the cockpit.
