[MSFS2024] Antonov An-2

As I said, I don’t know if this press loss is due to a bug or if I mishandled the engines and triggered the new engine failure system. At least now we know that by pumping manually, you get enough time to return to the airport

I’ve just verified on the last flight I just completed that the problem of fuel pressure loss (and power) occurs when the left and center fuel both tanks are selected. It does not happen with the right tank. Both having the same fuel quantity.

As I have already mentioned, using the manual pump stabilizes it, only to lose pressure again seconds later.

I’ve been using for my flight test the GPS Variant and the classic with wheels.

Please check if it happens to you as well, and if so, I will open a bug report.

I truly love An-2, but as was mentioned before… it needs some visual upgrades in msfs2024 and a career.

Has anyone else been able to confirm if this is a bug, or is it just me?

In my case, the problem is only when both tanks are turned on. If you use the left or right one, there is no problem

FYI

I’ll read it (using google translate) carefully later. But let me ask you: do you know if this mod is compatible with FS24?

Yes, the mod is absolutely compatible with 2024. I checked the version on the wheels. The flight characteristics and fuel consumption are very close to those indicated in the flight instructions for a real aircraft. I’ll check the ski version in a while. If you have any comments or suggestions for improving the mod, you can write here in English, I will forward it to the author in Russian.

I’ve just checked again and it happens selecting left tank and both tanks. With the right tank there is no loss of fuel pressure. Very strange.

I install the left or right tank before turning on the engine and don’t touch the switch anymore. If I want to switch from the right tank to the left tank in flight, I have to go through the “both tanks” position and get engine problems. In this case, it is necessary to turn off the tanks completely and immediately turn on the left tank. It works so well for me.

Yes, can confirm this behaviour.

But now, the brakes seem to work reliably.

Tonight, I will try starting by selecting only the left tank. Maybe that’s the key

You were right: starting with the fuel selector in either the left or right position prevents any loss of fuel pressure. In all my previous tests, I had always started the engines with the fuel selector in both position, and that’s when I experience the loss of pressure in both the ‘both’ and ‘left’ positions.

I’ve also been testing changing the selected tank in flight, and even when passing through the ‘both’ position (where I can feel the engine performance decrease abruptly), once I switch the selector to one of the other positions, the performance returns to normal.

I love this plane. And I love this cockpit. I never get tired of saying that it is one of the most beautiful ones in the simulator. I can’t wait for a cargo variant to be added and for the persistence and tear & wear system to be improved.

I dream that an agricultural version would appear. In some countries of Eastern Europe and in Russia, this option is now actively used. It would be great to be able to release parachutists. In both cases, a change in flight weight and center of gravity should be considered. These would be very interesting missions)

I’ve continued flying the Anushka lately and noticed that when I change the fuel tank mid-flight, I experience pressure losses and performance issues again. Using the manual pump helps temporarily, but it fails after a few seconds. However, I’ve found a workaround: in addition to using the manual pump before and after the change, I increase the RPMs above 2000. And of course, it’s important to start the engine using either the left or right tank, never the ‘both’ selector. This way, I’ve been able to prevent any further drops in engine performance.

By the way, in the modern version with GPS, you still can’t start it in a cold and dark.

Is no one else having problems with the brake system?
