[msfs2024] atr 42-600 / 72-600

There are some options in the EFB that deal with A/P disconnect, limits and sensitivity.

Is normal, SIM Update is only for Core Aircraft Update (Standard, Deluxe and Premium)

Aviator is just bundle with all Expert, Famous Flyer and Local Legend Series Aircraft, is not base/default aircraft.

BTW, SIM Update Beta get only Standard Aircraft Update, with zero change list but update is already available.

The real one disconnects when a certain force is applied to the pitch or yaw axis, but can’t be disconnected by applying force to the roll axis.

If it is using the default MSFS autopilot logic, the autopilot can be overruled by manual input which is absolutely impossible in real life.

It is physically impossible to steer through the autopilot, either you are in control or the autopilot is, but not both at the same time.

The default MSFS autopilot behavior has been borked from FS2020 initial release. If you apply input to the roll axis, the aircraft follows your command but the yoke will roll opposite by the autopilot which makes no sense at all…

I’m not sure if this mickey mouse implementation applies to the ATR, I wouldn’t be surprised if it does.

The solution is so simple, just ignore manual input completely below lets say 50% input, when exceeding this limit, trip the autopilot offline (and specifically for the ATR, completely ignore input on the roll axis with autopilot on).

I think this would solve a lot of issues users have with deadzones not set correctly or sticks not completely centering. And it would mimic real world behavior much more closely.

Bug logged for many years…

Early FS2020 footage, but still applies to this day, manual input to the left with AP on, aircraft rolls to left, autopilot moves yoke to the right…

Edit: it has the same ridiculous behavior. to be clear the aircraft is flying straight using manual input while the AP is rolling the yoke full left. It makes absolutely no sense…

So how’s the update today??

I know there’s an upcoming update but I currently can’t fly current version, cockpit doesn’t come to life and throttles etc aren’t animated. Can quick start with [R1+Dpad Dwn] and it flies but no instruments. PS5 version. Initially when I recently bought the aviator upgrade when I clicked on it I got an error message saying something is missing, didn’t the error message today but issues still persist.

AAU4 doesn’t appear to be released yet. Or if it is, there’s nothing about the ATR :sob: unless this means ā€œAAU4 is partly released minus these aircraft that we’re still working onā€

SU5 and AAU4 are not the same thing. We are still waiting for some of the aircraft updates.

Right but I thought today was supposed to be the AAU4 update?

Yeah, but they haven’t said when today… so we just have to wait I suppose.

Anyone got the atr update yesterday?

No. The ATR wasnā€˜t released

Any idea why I’m getting this error, restarts changes nothing

Can fly it somewhat but screens remain blank. No messages about memory or avionics.

Standard PS5 version. Was hoping to get couple practice flights in while waiting for the update. I also get the error message on few other Aviator aircraft like the AN225.

Sorry to say that… but PS5 players should expect least non-problematic release of these updates… according to official statements. Anyway godspeed.:face_with_peeking_eye:

My guess is that Sim Update 5 last week introduced dependencies for that aircraft that rely on Aircraft & Avionics Update 4. I’m speculating, but they probably planned on releasing both at the same time, then a few days apart, and now AAU4 is delayed indefinitely.

To me, the ā€œrestart your sim and get the free updateā€ message is the giveaway. There is no update to receive by restarting. AAU4 needs to be released before this plane is even remotely flyable. Somehow, they broke it more with SU5. My chief complaint with it before last week was that the autopilot wouldn’t stay on. Now it’s completely unflyable.

Now saw a post from 2 days ago about it.

Additional Career Updates

  • Career mode mission dialog has been rewritten across multiple specializations, and a total of 1.2 million new missions have been introduced for the following activities:

    • Agricultural Aviation (Plane and Rotorcraft)

    • Aerial Construction

    • Firefighting

    • Medevac (remote village locations)

    • Private Charter (worldwide locations)

    • Search and Rescue (land-based locations)

KNOWN ISSUE (PS5)

The functionality of the following aircraft on PS5 and PS5 Pro is limited (wipers, gauges, levers, knobs, etc. may not work properly).

  • Antonov An-225 (from Aviator Edition)

  • ATR 42-600/72-600 (from Aviator Edition)

  • Airbus Helicopter H225 (from Premium Deluxe Edition)

  • Boeing 707-320C (from Aviator Edition)

We are working to resolve the issue with these aircraft as quickly as possible.

Propeller animations are horrible, they look static and shiver in an attempt to mimic rotation - I hope this is before the Hans Hartmann update on PC

The update is not out yet, it was delayed. We are still waiting..

It is funny that this STOL thing exists in MSFS were ATR has abandoned the project.

Anyone on PS5 have any luck with the ATR yet? Mine is still showing me the missing content message after installing the patch earlier today, restarting the sim and console, etc.

I hope the update will let us be able to use this aircraft in career mode, we have all those different models of the ATR, but unable to career mode with it :frowning: (would love to add the highline and freighter into my fleet’s and the 42S as well )
