[MSFS2024] Beechcraft King Air 350i

I did forget to post the #7 issues that would ground this version of the 350i,

  1. Digital gauges do not display.

  2. Analog gauges inoperative.

How about just fix the program? Go back to the 2020 version?

In the latest Dev QnA they did, Jorge did mention that the KingAir was a “little” simple and is going to be fixed along with some other base planes so they’re aware of the issues but who knows when they’ll get to it

Hopefully this is included in the SU5 avionics update, we are still expecting alot of default aircraft fixes in 2024

Personally I think the changes we have already seen in SU5 betas are all we’re going to get. I don’t love that answer, but I think it’s the most realistic one.

The C90 looks good, the PL21 is quite accurate but it also has many inaccuracies. Biggest problem is the fuel flow is 50% too high and TAS is 20% too slow. So in total the range is far too short.

Thats the main issue of all airplanes atm in FS2024. Some even worser then others. Enable FS2020 versions solves most of it. It’s like airplanes flying with flaps 1 but not have. Hope SU5 do good.

FS2020 it was too. King Air 350 floating like crazy an later landing like a brick
In the end it came all working good. Think SU5 is that good moment

Better put your hope into blacksquare to do a proper kingair
This one is borked since a long time and carenado is not much better in terms of fixing issues.

By the way get the blacksquare turbine duke for now and off you go.

Even after SU5 this airplane is still unusable at night. The mysterious ghost light is still there and no panel lights. Junk.

As a real-world Line training captain on the Kingair, ADonnan’s posts are spot on.

To call this anything more than a model is a disservice to your other aircraft

I have been patiently waiting for a fix for this aircraft. I’d love to know my prop RPM in flight

Oh and I’d happily give my time to talk and help develop it as I’m sure many other real-world pilots would too given the chance.

Wait, am I doing something wrong, or is it actually impossible to add SIDs and STARs to the flight plan? This seems absurd.

The G3X on its own is VFR only. You would need an IFR GPS tied to the G3X to load those.

Please add an IFR certified G3X to the aircraft so I can shoot approaches.

It would be much better if they put in a Pro Line Fusion or Pro Line 21. Nothing else makes sense.

it should’ve been that 6 years ago

Well, given there was no Proline 21 available in MSFS when the plane was originally produced 6 years ago, that would have been hard. The G3X was programmed to “approximate” the Proline at the time.

I do believe, however, there is now a Proline 21 system available. So the question is, why bother asking for an IFR G3X? Ask that they integrate the Proline 21 that’s just sitting there waiting to be used, pining, crying in the corner in fact, and then ask why the heck that wasn’t done the day the Proline 21 was released???

whats the FMS used in the CJ4?

A little googling (I’m not a jet flyer), the Pro Line 21 was released with AAU2 in the CJ4. I have zero idea why it wasn’t also integrated into the King Air at the same time given that’s what it’s supposed to have. I imagine that it’s likely that would have been too out of scope at the time. But I sure hope they do the work soon.

Interestingly, AI keeps saying the King Air has it, too, since Microsoft I suppose once said that’s what the avionics was, even though under the covers it was really a modified version of Asobo’s G3X simulation.

The C90 King Air in 2024 has it. Maybe that’s why it’s saying that.

Most likely they were aiming to bring the King Airs Pro Line Fusion layout into the sim to have yet another variant. My best guess would be that Microsoft was not able to aquire the proper licenses in time, so they somewhat fell back to the G3000 as it looks a bit similar (the cockpit shell could mostly be reused, the avionics would need to be swapped).

While somewhat flyable the King Air 350i didn’t receive much love in comparison to other aircraft, so my best guess is they will rework it whenever they either decide to go with the PL21 or have everything in place to use the Fusion.

As the Preator will be equipped with a version of the Fusion (but some different beast which doesn’t have much in common with the King Airs) Microsoft may have the needed licenses now - with this iniBuilds or some other devs (maybe even Asobo/WT) could start integrating a proper Fusion version in future.

Nah, you could tell it was just AI not really having any ability to understand. I would have had to have used a “smarter” question. But knowing the truth already myself, I didn’t really care it was wrong. I could tell from it’s answer what the truth was.

AI is not something I trust
 it’s good at some things
but only if you’re paying attention to what it’s doing.
