What on earth has happened to this helicopter? Did anyone test the new model? Terrible wrong coloured rivets. Odd looking textures in other places. But most of all… the flight model. I thought at first I had some kind of assists on, but no. It doesn’t torque on takeoff. It doesn’t change heading when banking. It flies like it’s some kind of odd dumbed down model that doesn’t resemble any other helicopter. Given how good the Inibuilds Scout/Wasp was, I had high hopes for this re-jigged model, but it’s obscenely bad, and that’s not an exaggeration.
How this made it through quality control I simply cannot understand.

It was moderately ok before su5 now its just as bad as the EC135

The Nemeth was much much better even with its flaws
Cartoons from 80s are more photorealistic hahaha
I am beginning to think that FS24 has some malediction with helicopters, I am going to light on some candles, just in case

I agree with those who spoke before me. It was a major mistake on Microsoft’s part to hand over the Bell 407 helicopter to the iniBuilds development team. The iniBuilds team is incapable of producing products of acceptable quality. I won’t even go into the helicopter’s flight model, because at present it does not resemble a helicopter flight model at all.
I would also like to point out that a number of laughable and pathetic, catastrophically poor decisions were made with this helicopter. This ranges from the colored rivets, through distorted and deformed components, to the sound design—neither the cockpit audio nor the external sound matches that of the Bell 407 helicopter.
The Bell 407 created by the Nemeth designer was a wonderful product. In my opinion, with further development and refinement, it could have become a truly professional-grade model. In contrast, iniBuilds has driven this helicopter into decline and complete ruin.
I would also like to note that during the beta testing of SU5, these issues were already reported to the developer, yet they did not address either the feedback or the reported bugs. At present, both in terms of visuals and flight model, the Bell 407 helicopter resembles something from a simple arcade game. This level of quality is both shameful and ridiculous for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Another aspect of this tragedy is that all the livery packs, the Simfocus realism pack, Echo 19 audio pack, etc. that many have been using are now trashed as well. Reminds me of the Twin Otter debacle.
I really want an explanation on this decision.

They did need to sort out its disproportionately over-sensitive torque control though, there a movement of 2mm on the pedals would swing the tail round about 150 degrees. I had to have a special damped down profile for flying it. However, that’s now been replaced with one where torque is completely absent, arguably worse.
You can fly this thing like a drone or rc heli

They killed the 407.
A pity. Was really nice before, despite it’s flaws.

Bell 407 is still terrible.
You guys have had exclusive control over this aircraft since the 2020 release. 5 years, 5 months and basic functionality still doesn’t work.
Simple things like switches. Gauges looking wrong. Seating position. (most of us are not vertically challenged). The B8 control head….Throttle manipulation, a throttle LATCH.
Flight model: For the love of god, go out and do an experience flight in a real bell helicopter with a fully articulated, soft in plane rotor system. Stop catering flight models for your console controllers.
This is pathetic.

Why there is no copilot in the Bell? It’s totally inconsistent throughout the entire simulator. You can add passengers but no copilot.

Unfortunately MSFS/Asobos weakness is Quality Control.
I do hope this gets better soon at some point.

I hope Taog’s hangar will make a modern Bell someday

A 407GXi or 505 would be pretty neat.
