[MSFS2024] Boeing 737 Max 8

Thanks for the input. Have you had these issues with Career Mode? It seems Career Mode can simply trash how an aircraft performs, but I don’t know if its correlated. I know Patch 3 is inbound, so maybe a moot point, but on descent I had the trim runaway on autopilot and it also roll hard right on me. Tried to put the autopilot back on but exhibited same wild behavior. I have yet to get Career Mode graded on a 737 MAX flight because it cannot load back into the Career Menu after a flight, unfortunate since I was looking to do a 7 hour flight that is offered, but will hold off until we see a fix.

Even after programming the weights and speeds in the FMC, setting the elevator trim to what it says results in barely being able to pull the airplane off the runway.

Everytime I get a CTD when deactivating the AP on approach.

We just need them to release the paint kit on flightsim.to with the rest of the default fleet

Don’t know if one noticed, the 2 United liveries, one in Malaysian colours  Am I the only one or does no one care? Not talking about the livery itself but it’s this kind of little details that tells a lot.

That was fortunately fixed in this latest patch. A few more liveries were added (Korean, Aeroméxico, S7 IIRC,) luckily all were properly labeled

Ground power vehicle does not want to turn off

Agreed.

This Max is not good. It should have been pulled before launch. Asobo, please get a 3rd party to fix this AC or let Working Title work on it, please. The weights and payload don’t work well, the tablet has issues, and the screen bloom still doesn’t look good in HDR.

I was impressed, couldn’t believe what I saw

I have to say the Max is probably the worst aircraft I have ever flown on the SIM. If I set the correct trim, it does a wheelie down the runway. It doesn’t follow a flight plan properly, and performance is shockingly bad. I don’t know how they managed to create such a massive steaming pile of cow dung, but they did! Such a shame as I was really looking forward to this when 24 was announced!

It’s a bit frustrating to have to find this out different planes by Asobo have different ways of clicking on the buttons. None of the other default Boeing airplanes behave as such, why change it just for the 737-8 Max???

The feeling I have is, many of the ways the sim/game is built is done by people who don’t know aviation or don’t even bother to get clarification on how things are done. This has been the case with Asobo for years now and continue to be so.

The 737-8 Max is very frustrating to play as many things are simply wrong or don’t even work. Some on this forum were fighting tooth and nail on how some Youtubers said the 737-8 Max was awesome. It is definitely far from it.

Just frustrating given how Asobo said this is their best work. Yet, simple QA testing will unveil many flaws. Does Asobo even have a QA team?

Is there anywhere in this craft to turn off the cabin lights ?

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to get the spoilers to work with my joystick. tca airbus quadrant. I have the axis assigned. but there is no response.

If I remember right, I believe the spoiler lever handle on the Max operates much like a flap handle, in notches.
Since that isn’t an “axis” function, I don’t think you can.

Need more landing challenges with the max 8

I have Captained the 737 MAX - irl. It’s “ok” representation here but the autopilot and how the trim behaves is terribly unreliable when close to the ground. Despite my PC being the latest top-of-the-line, I get FPS degradation even with reduced texture settings. Worse of all, it is broken in Career Mode. It cannot complete a mission without the sim freezing. 0-3 thus far.

Well I’m back. Purchased 2024 on release date and got a refund due to not being able to sim.

Ive been looking at the forums and based on that (getting better and still a long way to go but big improvement from release date) I have bit the bullet and repurchased.

Would love to fly the 737 Max but i cannot due to the fact it won’t load. I select it and chose the variant, livery etc etc and set it up at YSSY W33 International terminal and click start flight…thats as far as I get and nothing more. Little twirling circle bottom right had corner…All the above views of the airport start to blur and pixelate.

Happy to be back but I think I came back way to early

I had this issue yesterday with practically every plane and airport. Including 3rd party addons in community folder. Tried again today morning and the flight loaded on the very first try. I guess something was wrong with servers.

I am currently flying 737 MAX and man, this plane is awful. External lights still don’t work, transponder is broken, I can’t set squawk code, flood lights are barely visible, display for radios are still bound to panel lights knob. engines performance still looks like they are CFM -56 engines from NG variant. It’s unbelievable how this plane was accepted for the release. Captain Sim would do a better job.

Has anyone done a bug report for the non changeable transponder/squawk issue? If not then how do we know they will fix the issue? I just came across it tonight myself. I’m not using in game ATC, so need to be able to change it manually.

So at a quick glance (1st flight), overall not bad for a default aircraft, but-

  • altitude dial is reversed turn left increases turn right decreases altitude seems like it should be other way around
  • ground power light just says available and doesn’t respond to switching ground power on
  • transponder/squawk not able to be set manually
  • should VHF and NAV displays really be tied to background illumination knobs? When no background illumination, no frequency display are visibleat all same goes for MCP panels
  • center black buttons eg ‘STD’ unresponsive in legacy mouse mode, same for HDG mode center switch
