[MSFS2024] Boeing 747-8i (-8F)

Sadly the b747 is the only aircraft I don’t fly that much in the sim

You may want to look at something else. I just landed and checked the radeon software. I’m at about 330 fps (7900xt @1440 p). There is much room for improvement with the 747.

Hmmm i really dont know then. I dont have any 747 specific addons in my community folder as it was my first time flying the plane so I cant think of what would be interfering with it to cause such a drop in performance.

is it normal that the rudder pedals are not centered when they’re centerred?

Is the rider centered when looking from outside? I had an issue of my controller needing to be calibrated and the rudder was constantly off center

yup, rudder is centered and the plane fly straight. If I press the rudder to make them both equal, I have massive yaw

I can replicate this problem.

just fired up the 747-8F, the APU knob is doubled with only one actually moving

Also the nose wheels rotate the wrong direction when moving and the main wheels seem to all be rotating at different speeds

There are bugs open for the APU knob and steering. You can vote for them in their respective bug report threads.

She is pretty though

Imagine if they could give it the attention she deserves

Or just open it so the community could. They have a huge resource of people who want this Sim to be as good as it can be.

Unfortunately, yes, that’s “normal”. Also, if you have rudder pedals, if you go to brake with the left, both of the pilot’s pedals will depress on screen, and the right will do that with the first officer’s. Individual braking, an important tool IRL, is not yet available in the 2024 version, though it is in the 2020 version.

Salty did tremendous work on the FS2020 version until WT finally got serious. Toward the end of my time with 2020, the Asobo/WT version of the 747 was better (IMHO) than the Salty. I don’t think it would have been so had not Salty made the improvements it did and spurred on WT to better. I’d love to see the 2024 version opened up to the community.

And also a bunch of code that is under copyrights that might not allow unauthorized distribution

avionic wise the 2024’s 748 is ok

problem is the 3d model that needs to be fixed ASAP

It’s just an animation thing. If you look at the sim brakes, either in the debug screens or just by feeling the effects, the toe brakes work just fine differentially.

I think you might be misremembering. WT wasn’t even hired (or a company) until after 2020 released. They were just a bunch of modders with other devs jobs.

WT wasn’t involved in the 747 dev at all until the very AAU that updated it. I guess you could make the argument that the Salty 747 caused MS to assign WT to updated the 747, but WT had nothing to do with it before that time.

I haven’t flown it in a while, but I feel like I’ve seen more than a fair share of lines in at least a few sim updates about art fixes to the plane. What else is left to do that is critical?

Have you seen the front window placement from the cockpit?
On my calibrated rudder pedal setup, toe brakes do NOT work differentially. On the 2020, they work fine, but not on the 2024.
Point taken about WT. Still think opening up to the community would spur on the development process.
