Regularly fly the longitude. Always works for me. VNAV works from takeoff to runway threshold.
I find that when it doesnāt give me a TOD, itās because my approach procedure is via vectors. If I change it so itās via an established procedure instead of vectors, itāll properly calculate a TOD.
For me the Longitude has become unflyable. Iām having several issues.
- I have auto trim turned off. I set my trim on the ground, but once airborne, the trim will NOT respond.
- After takeoff, the plane thinks itās a rocket and tries to climb at 13,000 fpm in either automated climb mode. Sometimes I can get it under control manually, but lately that doesnāt even work, and I end up stopping the flight.
- Letās not even talk about ATC. āIād like to change my destination ā¦ā
- ILS approach does not always follow the glide path even though it was captured earlier.
Iāve tried rebooting the computer, Reinstalling the simiulator. Nothing seems to work.
Iām very frustrated with MSFS 2024 with all these issues and they better fix them soon.
works perfectly for me
Double check your VNAV profile in the Avionics and make sure itās set correctly. Sounds like itās set to climb at a lower speed than the normal 250knts. If it tries to hold say 160 it will be a rocketship and not realistic. But that said the longitude does climb like a bat out of heck. I regularly hold over 4000fpm for the initial few minutes of the climb.
I havenāt had any issues with it either, itās my primary aircraft right now.
I use auto-trim, so canāt comment there.
Plane does take off like a rocket, but nowhere near what youāre saying. Itās a typical ascent, around 4,000+ like the person before me said. Starts to taper off as you get higher. Last few thousand feet going up to FL450 take a minute though.
Issues with ATC have nothing to do with a specific aircraft.
I have had no issues with ILS approaches. Itās been almost too easy for me, but I like easy.
With Auto Trim = off, manual trim works using a rotary encoder wheel.
It seems that if AP is active,
it takes over the trim function and manual trim does nothing.
Any updates to the plane after SIM update two was released? Honestly I havenāt played MSFS 24 after I realize so many things were wrong in the plane. For me, the biggest takeaways are the lighting system and the plane can connect with ground power without a actual ground power vehicle being present. Also, the the batteries do not charge once connected to ground power.
Baggage door fixed to allow career use, but still canāt use it in career
Yeah, when I read that I got extremely excited, thinking it was a hint that the Longitude was in career. I had a sad panda moment when I realized it had not been added.
But maybe itās a sign that itās close? One could hope.
I think career mode updates have typically been server-side and not tied to an SU, so I would bet that several of the planes got updates to make them career compatible, and then a subsequent server-side career mode update will activate them.
It is certainly a server side fix. The PC-24 was not working in career mode yesterday, but they mustāve tweaked something in the last few hours because itās visible and useable again.
I thought I read somewhere that the Longitude was actually apart of career mode at launch but was subsequently pulled. Iād imagine compatibility issues? Either way Iām sure theyāre working out the kinks and intend to add it back, although Iām a bit afraid of the price tag theyāre going to put on it if they have the CJ4 at $34m
btw this is on SU3 BETA with local filesā¦
So lighting isssues and external power issues were not fixed?
I donāt know about external power, but the external lights are definitely much brighter at night now.
This is not a streaming issue. It is an issue with the LOD setup of the art itself and has been logged for the art teams to address when resources are available.
if it would be so sad, iād laugh!
SIX months in to a premium deluxe purchase and thatās what you get:
btw. what does āwhen resources are availableā stands for? iād say āwe donāt care right nowā?
and i guess this supposed to be contrails?
Considering how many people praise the Longitude for the way it flies and itās overall completeness Iād say itās probably lower on the list of priorities to fix. Theres still issues with basic flight models of native aircraft so an LOD issue is not priority.
