[MSFS2024] Cessna Citation Longitude

The FD is still on so ILS still works enough for the last few hundred feet where papi lights are visible and legally you are supposed to hand fly the last few hundred feet anyway

Try some videos mate on the longitude. I learned about the garmin from watching a vision jet tutorial, its system is more or less the same as the longitude, think vision is the g3000 system and longitude the g5000. KIP ON THE GROUND is a good channel, I learned it from watching one of his vids on the vision jet

The Longitude is not authorized nor certified to land with the AP on no matter the guidance mode; it has no CAT III autoland system, unlike the 747s, and 787. This has always been true of the MSFS Longitude; any good behavior landing the plane with the AP still on is merely luck and not a designed feature.

You must disconnect the AP at least 160 feet above ground level (most IRL operators actually have this as 300ft in their SOPs) and then land the plane manually.

From the official MSFS Longitude Operator’s Guide, Operating Limitations section (which is taken from the real operator’s guide):

AP off at 200 feet with runway insight, get ready to flare or go missed.

I have had the AP on until on the runway. No problem.

The plane itself is really nice, both graphically and technically, but the FPS is so bad (when compared to other default MSFS2024 airplanes).

Does anyone else also have such a bad performance in this aircraft?

I prefer to turn it off earlier for practice. I keep an eye on the green diamond and the Loc on runway

It’s always worked for me with smooth landings. The ils approach button lands you perfectly I just need to make sure I’m descending at aoa pitch. My point of this post was to see if someone out there from MSFS teamcould do what I did and see if they have the drifting to the right issue after landing. It all seemed to happen after that last update both planes affect osobo too. I don’t know if that makes any difference. But thank you for the info.

Not really, is allright here also in VR.

That is not an issue we would tackle, as it is not a bug. The Longitude autopilot has no connection to the nose wheel steering nor does it have a rollout control mode which holds the centerline.

The autopilot not holding the centerline upon landing is entirely expected and correct behavior.

One of the most complete aircraft in the game, but on XB it causes lag spikes that make you chop around, making cockpit navigation a nightmare. I suspect it’s because it’s a highly detailed aircraft and the XB can’t cope. Be awesome if the HUD worked.

Yes I agree it was very good in 2020 and I still think there is more ironing out for the 2024 but it’s already very good. Has added lots to career mode. Also a lot of garmin displays so for a plane if it’s size very demanding on the ole XB especially over big cities

It’s always stayed on point according the ILS And NAV. compass fluctuations between pink-green (nav and ils) also happen

go to the flight plan page and click on the VNAV button and set the speed you want it to fly from the FMS

Haven’t gotten on in a bit, but I saw in yesterday’s update that some liveries for the Longitude were released. Anybody know if those one actually work with the 2024 Longitude? Unlike the previously released ones.

You’re right, a lot of back and forth with the Xbox controller.

Nobody answered this. Finally got on today. This livery pack DOES indeed work with the 2024 Longitude. Thought I would provide an update in case anybody else comes looking before dropping the $5. Cheers!

The new liveries are nice, but the LOD on the Longitude is still abysmal.

Nice to see some new liveries on this bird.

But if you zoom out just a hair, everything disappears. Sad panda.

don’t think you get “premium deluxe” you only payed for “premium deluxe”, same with the TBM

It’s a case of now you see it, great paint job oops! Now you don’t, and all I did was zoom out a little. The default Citations LOD is pretty poor but still way ahead of these repaints for reasons I don’t understand which is a shame.

Have the lights been fixed? Or are they still jacked up.
