[MSFS2024] Cessna Citation Longitude

Try this. In some situations you may see some performance hit. It is a try and error option.

I finally had a chance to give the Longitude a few proper flights in MSFS 2024. I’m coming from MSFS 2020 on Xbox, finally trying MSFS 2024 on PC.

I’m in SU 4 Beta testing, and everything seems to be working well - most of the issues I still have seem to be more about the base simulator, not the plane in particular.

I’m very pleased to see the external lights working, and passenger cabin exists (which did not exist in 2020 on Xbox), and the lighting options for the cabin are great (found in the GTC Synoptics pages). It would be even better if the cabin lighting was visible / apparent from outside the aircraft at night (I don’t think it is).

I haven’t tested stall, single engine, or overspeed too much yet, but plan to soon.

Only criticisms so far are, as mentioned by others, as you scroll slightly away in external view, all the antenna disappear - they really shouldn’t, or at least, if they have to be dropped by the LOD curve, it should be much further away.

Hi there. I have the longitude now in career modus on XBOX Series X. But it’s nearly impossible to use it as it is horrible laggy. I can’t even remove the stuff in the entry screen for each missions.

Is here someone who flies the longitude on xbox in career and can help? On free flights there is no issue with the plane, just on career. Thanks for any possible support. Regards, Dirk

Done some flights yesterday in SU3, handled well overall, but FMS speed mode seemed strange.

On A/T-FMS Speed while reaching ALT it didn’t switch from CLB to CRZ, and the set cruise speed was too low, so I had to re-toggle A/T and the Speed mode selector. It allowed the plane to switch to CRZ, but the speed was still too low (250kts).

Later in VNAV descent it also didn’t follow the speeds provided in the GTC at all, but it still made it, not sure if by luck or there is some additional advanced logic at work here that doesn’t need to follow the VNAV speeds from the GTC. Similarly like with cruise, the set speed was magenta and it was followed correctly by the plane, but it simply didn’t match the VNAV settings from the GTC at all (that are the standard ones, didn’t change them).

Also, the empty weight for the plane was set totally incorrectly (I think it was saved from the Hondajet that I was flying before and had the same avionics, so I had to look up what actually the empty weight for a Longitude is, strange :>).

Either way, will do some more flying, maybe there is really something here that I don’t understand, watched some videos of people flying it, but don’t see what I could be doing wrong yet.

EDIT: Done some more, nothing changed the speeds assigned by the FMS Speed setting seem to be wrong in pretty much all phases of flight. Also Flaps 3 makes it assign a very low, close to stall speed, and then flaps 4 is correct again and higher (but also not what is set as approach speed in the GTC).

Other than this, A/T itself works fine and follows whatever you select manually as speed.

I am having the same issue on XB X, mainly with the Longitude and the 737. They are laggy and stuttering, which might be because they are highly detailed aircraft. My PC-24, however, is smooth as silk.

This and the weight issue we have noted coinciding with older versions of the HondaJet, which overwrote some core G3000/5000 saved settings variables. You may need to change the weights and VNAV speeds back to correct values.

Ahh, I started thinking something along the lines when I suddenly saw the mass of the Honda appearing in the Longitutde  Will write FlightFX on Discord, they are working on a 2024 version, so might still be able to solve it from their side. Not sure about the older versions, afaik I’m using the current one.

Don’t think I can change the VNAV values, the values displayed in the GTC of the Longitutde are correct, they are just not being followed.

I noted if I use the EFB and set the flight level it really got worse. So at the moment I don’t touch this and I can use the Citation Longitude quite okayish. All others planes are quite ok. With the heart I had same performance issues bit seems the career missions are so buggy with the heart that you can’t play them anyhow.

Hopefully, the performance tweaks in SU4 will help. I flew the Citation Longitude yesterday for a short flight and experienced severe freezing at a small airport. While it was fine once I was airborne, the freezes returned on approach—I suspect due to the highly detailed aircraft. XB struggles.

It’s a solid aircraft, and if they can eliminate the stutters and freezes, it would absolutely be my go-to jet. I also hope they eventually make the pull-down HUD functional; that change would likely make it one of the best aircraft in the entire game.

A soundpack wouldn’t be too bad either! I flew the Longitude in SU4 Beta the other day and noticed no performance issues. YMMV

Been thoroughly enjoying the Longitude as of lately. However, three issues arose that I can’t quite work out the solutions of:

  1. Is there a way to see ETAs at waypoints further than 3 away from present wpt, and preferably in the form of Z time? I can see the next 3 on the nav map, but further than that I can’t and they’re given in ETEs, meaning I need to do some quick math | Solved. Open up the flight plan page on the respective FMS (CPT side ND, CPD side FMS) and scroll down, the waypoints displayed automatically sync to the ones displayed in the FMS.
  2. Is there a way to change FLT ID without changing reg in the options? I have found that on the XPDR page the options are there but they’re grayed out, is that just not simulated?
  3. How do I go about turning TCAS on? I’ve got the transponder on ON so it should by all accounts be on, but on the traffic page it says “TCAS: STANDBY” and there’s no traffic showing up on any of the maps | Solved. Solution was putting transponder to Auto or TA only instead of On. On is the equivalent of mode A, Altitude reporting is the equivalent of mode C/S, TA only is TCAS on, and Auto is effectively TCAS TA/RA

Wing flex was added in SU4, and it’s great to see more aircraft incorporating this feature, as it really enhances visual realism.

It’s finally become playable with a few more shots of taxiing and landing, do you know if they will integrate the HUD and the ability to close the cockpit door?

I am currently experiencing an issue on PS5. The avionics are going wild—flashing, going black, and zooming in and out on the map. This happens in other aircraft also. Additionally, the auto throttle keeps disconnecting every few seconds and does not follow set speed restrictions, such as those below FL100. This bug may be specific to the PlayStation platform or a recent update on it, as the simulator performed perfectly on Xbox during SU3

I’ve been having issues with the auto throttle turning off on the PS5

Has you screens been flashing on and off and your map randomly zooming in and out?

I flew this on PC last night and never had any issues. Did you get any advisories? Does it happen every time? What about how long into a mission does it normally occur? I’ll try a flight on PC for that long to see.

The issue occurs intermittently both while on the ground and in the air, persisting throughout the entire flight duration. Simultaneously, the auto throttle disconnects whenever this happens. This problem is consistent across every aircraft I fly.

I suspect the PS5 console itself may be a factor, as mine is one of the initial systems released.

It is important to note that during the early access period, I experienced no issues. This behavior began only after an update was released to address a separate problem.

My hotas 4 is coming on Monday so I’ll give my ps5 a go in it then

So just to ask about your early console. Do you keep it upright or flat. There are overheating issues if you have kept it upright. The liquid metal drains out of the console in some.
