The autopilot heading bug is still present. None of the external lights work. The GPS is still too dark. The external model is janky like others have pointed out. None of the systems work right. Engine start up is terrible. The spinning propeller effect is horrible and could be upgraded to the new FS24 ones (minus the prop shadows showing on the airplane problem of course). No walk around elements like chalks or pitot covers. Superchargers don’t work.
Overall the DC-3 is my favorite kind of airplane. An old fashioned propeller airliner. I want the DC3 to be good but it just isn’t. Its just going to be neglected like all the other famous flier and local legend aircraft we paid extra for in the Aviator Edition.
carenado? inibuild? That would be the same level quality. Either empty arcedish beautiful shell (carenado) either unfinished half study plane (ini).. If CAS or FI or PMDG took over dc3… then it would be something
Nobody is asking for every plane to be PMDG quality. I get that it can seem like that from an anecdotal point of view, but, here, a bunch of people just want a mostly functional DC-3, study level would be a birthday cake.
I’m not denying the validity of your comment, certainly expecting all planes to be study level is an absolute pipe dream, but, I don’t think there’s many users who want ALL planes to be PMDG quality.
The thing is, PMDG once intimated they might consider bringing a DC-3 to the sim. I think that idea has fallen by the wayside, though.
It seems. E.g. heading bug - bug, holding bearing with autopilot doesn’t work. I only tested with modern instruments though. But I could mention backlighting bug of GPS screens as well.
To be honest. That duckworks mod is outdated (Wasn’t the last update made in December 2023?) and it doesn‘t improve the standard DC-3 in MSFS 2024 at all. Somehow it screws the gyro pilot up and you will always have clean windows. There is no dirt building up like in the standard version. Looks like not many people are using the DC-3 in MSFS so we can‘t expect updates from Asobo?
What exactly is not working for you with the default aircraft? Do you have flight dynamics in mind? Do you probably mean the drift to the side on a runway when accelerating? That‘s a pretty common thing for a taildragger and it would make that duckworks mod even worse if it indeed removes that special characteristic.
For real, why should I use a mod dated back to December 2023 for a software that is constantly getting updated?
Software updated what? The majority of aicraft coming from 2020 are bugged in 2024 …see local legend and famous flyer …noone is updated and the same for dc3 you are flying a fs 2020 aicraft in 2024…and this is worst in 2024 with more bugs no one update was released for dc3 too…later i will show what duckwork does
I think they are working on the plane but most users won‘t notice it because updates for the streamed version of it are silent. If you download it, which is possible in SU4, you will have a version number displayed in your library and immediately notice whenever an update comes out. I believe the DC-3 in the current state improved somehow. At least it feels better operating it.
Please, developers, repair this aircraft. Only the white paint classic and pure metal calssic liveries works, the rest is broken in SU4. This is the most enjoyable aircraft in VR imo.
I really want to love this bird. That’s because it is DC3 and I have used it quite a lot in the previous sims since I don’t remember when. But this really drives me crazy.
The graphics in the cockpit are dated, but I can live with that. The wheel chocks are removed from the cockpit., not good.
But I am not able fly it. Have I lost all my (limited) aviator skills with the DC3? I am zigzagging on the runway (the tail wheel is locked). And after I get it airborne, the left wing loses its lift and I crash on that side.
I am willing to admit, it is me, not the airplane. But what I am doing wrong?
