[MSFS2024] Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II

I totally agree, a great plane but needs its going out clothes

Also the flight model seems weird to me at low speeds : impossible to stall it, with idle thrust (or even shut down engines) and stick fully back, you gently cruise around 105 knots, 20° AOA, with only around 1000 feet/mn descent rate.

Have read about why from miltech with the c17 its to do with the usaf will want money for the deception of it and due to it being base game the developers had to advise by certain rules

Dean from DC designs will have done the same here it’s all to avoid some potential legal trouble

Not an expert but remember the A-10C is a FlyByWire aircraft, so it might actively prevent you from stalling.

Not wierd, A10s wings are incredibly effective. IRL the A10 which has no parking break, if started without care can actually take off at idle speeds.
Its not impossible to stall but it is very difficult to do so in level flight. Try a gear down power on stall instead

Ok, but I tried with engines shut down and managed to maintain almost level flight (-100 / -150 ft/mn) for several minutes around 10000, with stall warnings ringing. Ascending winds (over the ocean, standard weather
) were enough to push me up from time to time. I started the engines to extend the gear, then shut them off again and it did not change drastically the behavior. Tried one of the MSFS 2024 gliders at the same spot, could not maintain altitude this well (it started lower though).

Maybe it is just my poor technique, but I find ground handling very difficult, even more so than the BF-109, not because of torque, but because a) it is hard to keep a steady (slow) ground speed, and b) it sometimes refuses to turn except in a huge arc, uncontrollable with either rudder or brakes. I used to know (in MSFS2020) that if a plane behaved badly it was because of pilot error, but with 2024 I can’t tell if it is me or a bug. Any suggestions on how to get this beast to taxi?

It’s awesome to have Fairchild as a brand in FS2024

If you read up on Fairchild’s history, Fairchild owned the Fokker f27, Metroliner, f28, and DO328 JET, just as long as carenado doesn’ read about the Fairchild f24 basic GA Aircraft

(I hope they all appear at some point in the sim  )

Why can’t this be disabled?

What are you trying to disable?

The aircraft from my library. Strange that you can’t disable it.

Probably cause it’s part of 2024, but yea, seems like something they could allow.

I know. If you remove an aircraft that’s used in Career, you get a warning, but you can still disable them.

The spoilers slow down the aircraft maybe 5 knots when first deployed but then do nothing afterwards to help continuously decrease speed.
