There’s no flaps, so setting the trim high helps get it off the ground. With the single engine version trim set at 40% I took off at about 65kts. Hope this helps; it’s a fun plane to fly and looks great!
Byrds Little America base on simmarket.
For the skiis just have a really open area!
Also the Southern Cross one on the replica…
Edit: The spanish, the Sabena and the Ala Littoria livs are missing as well.
Made a bug report on this:
I tried to only start engine 2 to taxi to the runway (because it has no brakes). But the engine stops with the other two not running.
Very strange.
Whew - no brakes - make sure you are on the verge of stall with a long runway. Possibly pull off onto grass for increased friction!
No trim ?? I couldn’t find any. EDIT - found it - see screenshot
No compass - not one that works anyway.
Just discovered, I don’t think this should be on tarmac anyway there is no rear wheel - looks like a slide for grass runways.
She can reach 100kts but climbs very sluggishly.
Erm, how do you stop at the hold points to ask for permission to enter the runway - I can only see that this aircraft is DING heaven in Career mode.
No radios! … do we get a set of signal flags with this?? ![]()
Honestly - if this is as basic as the original - you really, really have to admire that guy who flew it for, what was it, 85 hours?
Only way to stop - grass runway and turn off engines and coast!
Thanks, that helped! I had to start on the runway more or less since the surrounding snow was too bumpy even though it appeared pretty flat. Lots of fun!
I noticed a minor graphical glitch - the Fokker Vii b cargo variant door opens, but the interior view still sees part of the door closed
How do you stop the aircraft on skis? Just skid off the end of the ice into the arctic sea?
Haha, or steer off the runway into the snow banks. Really, it’s the same as the non-replica that doesn’t have brakes. Just land as slow as possible and flare up
How come the F.VIIa has interior lighting and a radio but the F.VIIb doesn’t? It’s not the biggest deal, but I prefer the livery options that come with F.VIIb and I’d prefer to have radio and instrument lights too
Is it just me or does the replicas propeller controls not work?
I think they do, but it takes a bit of pulling before you see the RPM actually start to drop. Also, manifold pressure has to be a low enough too
I pulled them all the way down and it did nothing.
I took some time to get a reaction for me…
Checked it out the Fokker is available in career mode for cargo ops ![]()
And VIP tourist I think, which makes sense.
See if your manifest pressure is low enough and then be patient after pulling back rpm to around 70-75%. Does that do anything?
I’ve had to restart once or twice because the props were spinning before I even turned the battery on… So if you’ve been experimenting in a single session see if going back to main menu and starting again changes anything.
I just tried a sightseeing mission. The single engined variant seems to get picked for this. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a radio so it is is impossible to communicate as instructed ![]()
I also noticed that there are no covers to remove pre flight. Some of the control surfaces can be moved and the tyres can be checked but there aren’t the symbols highlighting this to indicate which parts need checking. It looks as if the pre flight check depiction was only half done before release.
In general it seems like a rushed poorly checked release. I really hope this is going to be fixed promptly. Otherwise it doesn’t bode well for future FF/LL 2024 updates.
It is fantastic seeing the FVII in carer mode but it needs the obvious errors fixing.
