ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: when flying the A400m I am experiencing a total freeze of the sim when clicking outside the sim, like using discord etc
The issue is not connected with location, route or a specific time in flight
I had it on ground after 10 min or airborne after 30 min
I will continue some tests with other airplanes too and I will update this post, but in the meantime I open this topic to know if someone else have this problem

I just tried other times, from an other airport even in window mode, nothing, same issue

Hi,
i encouter the same … i think it is related to being MSFS2024 going into kind of background mode … the windows 11 setting for msfs2024 “this app can run in the background” was on the default “optimized”. i changed it to “always” and will check if this helps … the problem is, the freeze occurs sometimes quicker than the next time …

Edit: MSFS2024 is running now for 1h 46m … flying from LSZH to LOWS in the Fenix A320, MCDU Screen poped-out to external mcdu… now standing on the apron in LOWS with external cam on and most time since parking i was using Edge Browser to search something, was on X, doing stuff on the web … its still alive… maybe this setting caused the freeze ?!
Dont know why Windows even sets it to “optimized” per default …

I have also noticed this issue in the A400M - It seems to happen in every flight I have tried. Doesn’t matter what flight it is, I could have the FMS programmed to do an A to B flight or just flying around. The whole simulator seems to “freeze” and then if you look at task manager the CPU usage is down to like 1%.

The sound though carries on like I am actually still moving and can hear the rain etc. It never seems to recover.

I’m using Steam version which doesn’t seem to have the Windows 11 setting on the background apps setting like the above poster to give that a try.

Specs: 9800X3D, 64GB DDR5, RTX 3080
