[MSFS2024] Pilatus PC-24

This is about as steady as I can get the Autothrottle to cooperate - Manual SPD mode.

I did shove the throttle into AT on the virtual cockpit - it’s kinda annoying to see it moving back and forth, even though that’s how many ATs work - with the servos moving the handle by itself.

I found cross-checking the actual TAS/Mach Number readout and adjusting the SPD value to a few notches below where I really want it helps. There’s just no way to get it close to the barberpole without getting dinged in Careers.

I find the plane very impressive and pretty. Easy to start C&D and similarly easy to import the flight plan etc. I like the layout of the avionics but a bit fiddly with all the small drop-down menus. No problem getting the covers off this one, unlike some others. I was going to do little flight from EGLL to EGPH which I find a good test so off I went. The take off roll was fine and I started the climb. At first, I used FLC which worked OK while the speed was acceptable but soon the lack of power was evident and if I’d continued this way the plane would have stalled and fallen from the sky. Another annoying thing was that it failed to follow the flight plan and I’d probably ended up at John Lennon if I hadn’t fallen out of the sky before. I gave up on this flight and decided to try another one. I made sure there weren’t any discos in the flight plan, in case that would have caused the problem before. Everything crystal clear and up in the air I went. It went the same way. The plane failed to track but it followed the line on the PFD even though it didn’t come close to the actual way points on the map. Really weird. I changed from FLC to controlled climb to prevent stalling before I even got to FL200 but that was too slow for a jet like that. There are obviously a couple of serious issues that need fixing before the flight can be enjoyable. Firstly, the plane is absolutely gutless so you could pass it in a C172, laughing. The other is the tracking problem. With those two items fixed, I’d love the plane because it has a very nice over all design and the cockpit and cabin are well presented. In addition, I find the avionics very nicely designed and intuitive and easy to get your head around. So, hopefully and fingers crossed, this will be fixed.

You’re probably relying on the Autothrottle - in which case Carenado didn’t change the VSpeeds schedule from the PC-12 and just dropped it into the jet. It’s quite a gutsy jet if you manage the throttle accordingly - which in this case is either by hand or by overriding the AT schedule managed by the FMS and dial in the correct speeds using the AP IAS knob.

That, and the incorrectly doubled fuel consumption rate nerfs an otherwise fun jet to fly.

I agree, a nice jet to fly as long as you switch to manual speed for the auto throttle rather than the FMS, oh and manual speed for the final as it will stall, the fuel is another issue but add fuel bound to controller helps this, would be nice if they fixed though for realism

I too ask myself this question. Last time i checked, the stall speed was still way too high. Did you ever resolve this issue. Can’t believe there isn’t more chatter about it so i just thought it was something i had setup wrong

Just tried out the pc24 with su2, still seems to have all the flight model and fuel flow issues

just wanted to load in and test but seems, I don’t have to sadly

I gave it a very simple test since I don’t have much time for it right now:
I loaded the plane in the runway and slammed the throttles to full, once the fuel flow maxed out I began a chrono and saw than the endurance dropped 1 minute every 30 seconds.
The endurance is still fully controlled by engine 1
Tried to take off with default weights, needed 140 knots

What’s crazy is the SU2 RTM Release Notes today have Zero mention of the incorrect FMS speeds. Not to mention the underperforming AT behavior.

Maybe they got implemented and just left off the notes but I can’t test it until at least tomorrow. Maybe someone can check.

Hi, I’m unable to select the PC-24 in career. It’s not even available for purchase anymore. Anybody else?

It is possible that some stuff got left out the change log, according to it, the PC24 is in version 1.0.9, while according to the content manager it’s in 1.0.10, that being said I found that the v speeds where completely off as usual

EDIT:
So I gave the pc24 another go since I found out that some of the update hasn’t applied to the saab when I tested it (the fmc now works wooohoooo!!!). And after taking off the plane actually rotated at the speed it gave me. That being said I did get a stall warning shortly after (I also just slapped the trim onto the green zone so that might be on me). It also got the pressurization panel like the pc12.
Unless any other phantom update drops, the fuel is still screwed tho

How’s the auto throttle behavior now?

Does the PC-24 steer now?

Just logged in on Xbox, had a 2.9gb update, in game release notes say null, oh and PC24 not available for career!! So the ones I already have I can’t maintain or sell so frustrating

I have never had issues with the steering with it. But it does take a bunch of thrust to get the plane rolling as always

Yeah I remember you had to get the engines up to around 40% to get it to start rolling and then bring the throttle back down so you don’t get dinged for going too fast.

I never had an issue with the steering after landing, but I also never skipped to descent, and I believe that’s what was causing it.

Still the same… maybe a bit less but it’s still there. FLC mode did improve too not stuck at 140 knts but stuck on 200 now …lol It gives a less agressive vertical speed though.

Auto throttle is definitely fixed, finally!

I have a new bug on xbox where the throttle won’t even budge when using my controller, even the default controls don’t work, this is the only plane that seems to have this problem so far.

I spoke too soon; it’s not actually fixed, it keeps struggling with holding a speed. Also, the throttle levers don’t respond to gamepad inputs (A & B). I play on PC with an Xbox gamepad.
