[MSFS2024] Pilatus PC-6 B2

it’s hilarious to me that the person responsible for the PC6 development made a fool of himself in a pre-launch video where he demonstrated he knows exactly 0, nothing. He got asked exactly this question and he didn’t know what people were talking about. MS should just get the Blackbird plane and cut all ties with Hans Hartmann. Dude had years to fix the PC-6 and we’re still in this situation on the most basic features.

I fly the Porter in real life, there is no PC6 in MSFS that is close to the real one..very sad

I always felt the Milviz/Blackbird one had very weird flight dynamics, but better systems. The Asobo one just feels like a generic Cessna with a turboprop. It’s like a C208B tail dragger.

Have you tried the Thranda one in XP? It’s very good, better than Blackbird, at least to me, a non-pilot. Thranda planes are in general outstanding. I fly both sims, but MS is definitely a necessity in some areas like New Guinea, and the Porter has to be the plane of choice no matter what.

Really hope the no trim will be fixed soon. This game should have been MFS 2025. Released way to early. Countless problems :frowning:

Not much to add. . . Except tailwheel lock, a consistent issue with MSFS 2024 trail draggers (See P-51 Mustang). It is not as much of an issue with lower-powered single engine planes, but with this much torque going through the propellor, asymmetric propellor wash on the fuselage etc., tailwheel lock is really, really helpful for keeping it on the runway during takeoff.

Can´t set XPDR … when i try to click a number, it sends that numer 3 times.
HDG Knob at the left Display didn´t work.

■■■■ … what a buggy mess is this sim?!

The PC-6 has not received much attention since the launch of Flight Simulator 2024. We explore the frozen lake feature with live weather and demonstrate a short flight landing on Lake Brienz in Switzerland. Not all lakes are frozen with live weather. Some lakes are only frozen along the shoreline and other lakes may have open water at one end of the lake.

I follow the preflight, engine startup, and after startup checklists. Sometimes the G1000 screens are blank. I end the flight, start up in he G1000 Cessna 172 and when I return to the Pilatus PC-6 both G1000 display screens are on. I have been trying to fly from WAYY to remote landing strips but never make it before I get an “engine malfunction”. I always back off the throttle to about 90 percent once at altitude, but the engine always shut’s down on me. The airplane as it has been developed is totally unreliable.

PC6 latency in VR reaches 360ms and less than 20fps even with spacewarp. Hoping for a fix soon. Thanks.

This plane is SO sadly neglected…

Doesn’t have proper water effects on the “Floats” version and you cannot steer in the water unless you lower the landing gear (there is no way to lower the rudders).

Interior/Instrument lighting isn’t working (night flight was near impossible and the timer light was blinding on the older cockpit version, G950 doesn’t have it).

There are no engine instruments showing on the G950.

The Generator switch isn’t working properly.

A lot of the switches are glitchy – it will be OFF and you click it and it will turn OFF, then click again to turn ON, etc.

The lower breakers are wonky and aren’t animated (appear Open but are actually Closed and animation isn’t working on them)

Tons of CAS warnings.

atrocious.

Can’t speak to the flight model but it doesn’t feel like it flies right either. I tried three different versions and all of them had serious issues.

I’m seeing this with the stock PC-6 in MSFS 2020. I noticed that if after doing the automatic start sequence with the engine running at no ITT or torque, I can increase the ITT by constantly wiggling the condiftion lever. Eventually ITT turns green in the 320s, , but it won’t go higher and the torque never increases. Once I stop wiggling, it all goes back to zero.

Can’t do the Amazonas bush flight because of that.

2 issues:

On G950 version, avionic doesn’t turn on

On gauges version, main altimeter doesn’t wok

Question: is it normal the lack of power on takeoff (full condition, full prop, full throttle)?

it is killing my GPU/CPU on a high end PC

When will this available to career mode ?

This plane is the most used in the world for skydiving drop, but we can only fly the Cessnas

I thought maybe it was just me, but this plane is a mess. No beta or tailwheel lock. Primary altimeter doesn’t work, inop flap and trim indicators, a real memory hog. Whoever thought this was ready for release should be embarrassed. People have been complaining for more than a year. What gives?

I iusualy fly the non-garmin version of this plane and don’t have these issues, did you remove the pitot cover and other things ? Your generator switch seems to be off that’s why you don’t have full avionics

Ok, I havn’t found the generator switch. I am flying free flight and don’t have any walk around or pitot covers to remove. There are analog speed and altitude instruments so I could land. But the point with the G950 version is to use it fully with map and all. Have to go search generator and alternator switches next

You have an in game check list in EFB wich is complete and functionnal

or https://flightsim.to/file/52149/pilatus-pc-6-porter-checklists-procedures

Even in free flight and if you spawn at a parking spot you’ll have to do the walk around, but you can bind a touch for quick preflight if you don’t want to do it

My comments refer to Xbox.
HUD displays always full engine power, rpm differs, Throttle increase/decrease works.
Full power is nearly not enough for takeoff, quick shutoff with controller or keyboard doesn’t work.
It’s such a mess, very sad!
In FS2020 this plane worked very well, it was my favorite plane.
