Wait really? What do they need to do to make it possible? I really can’t wait for a northwest airlink saab!
Currently but should be possible when the marketplace is up and running. See thread about unencryption of default aircraft.
One issue Im facing is beta range seems to drop the prop rpm massively so it gets stuck in beta. It should be possible to flip in and out of beta very quickly to control the aircraft taxi speed.
Can someone corroborate with me that the SAAB and only the SAAB does not work with a Saitek X52 stick? Pitch and roll are completely ignored. Have analog/axis bindings for ailerons and elevator bound to the X52 stick, which works with every other plane.
This is very disappointing. Was most looking forward to this plane in the premium tier.
Is there a number on top of the bindings in your control profile (indicating there’s multiple bindings for that binding)? Did you check if there’s a conflicting binding from another controller?
I’m wanting a paintkit to do this and the rest of the fleet!
I tried to take this one for a night flight tonight, my observations:
- as has been noted, the bloom is way overdone. The red light in the gear handle came on and it was like the cockpit was on fire.
- I couldn’t enter my flightplan route in the FMC. I was able to enter my departure airport and first waypoint, then I couldn’t add any other waypoints. Oddly if I went to select the departure runway / SID then went back to the flightplan, it would let me enter one more waypoint, but that was it, no more.
- Propeller levers don’t work with the propellor axis binding.
- this one might be user error but I couldn’t get the instrument panels illuminated. I had the instrument light dials on the overhead set to full, but if I turned off the dome light it was clear nothing was lit up. Maybe I missed a lighting master switch somewhere?
Thank you for the reply. In case the keyboard was causing a conflict, I’ve unbound any keys for control surfaces. This unfortunately has not solved the problem.
The aircraft was stuck in place could not move it even if chocks are removed
I watched this video yesterday, it seems the Saab doesn’t have a proper working FMC and some buttons don’t work like they should. I’ll give it a try today. For now the only reason to use 2024 is the Saab.
How do u put in beta for taxi? And do u ever lower condition levers after takeoff.
In real plane the condition levers are pulled back a bit after take off. They control prop rpm and the target should be ~1180 rpm.
When the power levers are below flight idle, you are operating in beta range. Also the beta lights will illuminate in central panel.
Ok thanks mine wants go reverse thrust. I use bravo quadrant
S340 looks fantastic, but…
I can’t take off, 1st try it went left. I know that props planes have torque steer, but I couldn’t overcome it with rudder.
2nd try, also going left, but I could overcome it with rudder, but can’t take of. Trim set to TO, condition levers full forward, throttle applied slowly, stick full back, speed over 140 kts.
the aircraft is fantastic but i have questions.
will the aircraft have a vnav function or it does not have IRL?
if there is no vnav functions will there be a TOD calculation / indication and the altitude range arc / green banana just like the Avro RJ? (see reference pic).
I may be wrong but doesn’t the UNS-1 have vnav calculations in some shape or form?
clicked vnav on the UNS-1 but it says not available. maybe it will be in a future update hopefully. upon seing the saab340 for xplane and p3d those have vnav capabilities so we might wait for WT to have the vnav function for the UNS-1.
I’d like to see a Link Airways livery added-would be perfect for ops out of Shellharbour YSHL.
I’m actually surprised we didn’t get an old silver airways livery because we got that one in the Asobo ATR in FS2020
