I enjoy flying this plane but I’d fly it more if it would move as fast as it should. I haven’t had any fuel problems yet but I’m sure my day will come.
At least a few community liveries are showing up now.

Pretty sure that is accurate for many turboprops. A majority of them need to use beta while taxiing as said earlier in the forum.
I’m really enjoyng this bird.
Amazing job, one of the best so far for msfs2024.
I also did a deep tutorial on my YT channel but it is in italian.
The only good sim of this plane was SF340 by Leading Edge Simulations for X-Plane.
Nice ive been wondering where a manual was for this plane.
Has anyone else had a new “load custom camera” bug pop up in this plane? For me, custom cameras 3-7 (or maybe 3-8, don’t remember) no longer show the camera views I’ve set - instead they go outside the plane to nonsense views. I deleted the cameras.cfg file to start over in case it somehow got corrupted, but no matter what I do most of my views don’t work. I’m on SU1 Beta, so it’s entirely possible this is the problem - but as far as I can tell, I’m not having this problem in any other planes.
You write English very well, any chance you can repeat your video in English PLEASE Germano? Such good in depth videos are otherwise non-existent for the Saab 340B.
I am having strange stutters in the avionics after the SU1 update. Every 5 seconds or so the avionics freeze completely for about 2 seconds. No other issues, nothing 3rd party, just the two screens freezing. Otherwise the plane operates normally. This was not an issue before SU1. Anyone else notice this?
Was the FMS updated with SU1? Is it usable now?
According to the patch notes the Saab 340B did not recieve a single update so I guess not, but if anyone could confirm it I wouldn’t mind.
Edit: The UNS-1 did get some updates, but don’t know if that makes any difference for the Saab 340B if its still using the wrong version
I flew the Saab 340 earlier. You’re able to enter in more waypoints kind of. The plane is still a mess.
I haven’t had much of a go wth the Saab but I believe I could map the condition levers to my HC Bravo. I think it may have been under propellers rather than condition levers. My controller adjusted the prop RPM but the levers in the cockpit weren’t animated. Check the gauges
I flew it tonight, the FMS is still the V1.1 - the 2020 edition. I messaged Carenado about this plane and directed them to this (and some other) Saab 340 threads, but never heard back - not even an automated confirmation of receipt.
I know it’s frustrating but although it’s made by Carenado it’s actually a Microsoft aircraft.
It’s up to Microsoft to get off their rear end tell Carenado to fix it.
We, the customers, are caught in the middle of all this…
I really want to like the plane, it has the potential to being as good as the ATR (which also has its own problems). As of now, the only real way to get the UNS to talk to the actual efis in front of you is to match the flightplan in the EFB and then send what’s in the EFB to the avionics. If you do a change to the EFB in career mode before you start a flight, the plane randomly drops from 50 feet to the ground for $250k in damage and the flight ends immediately in failure, if you do it after you start a flight the joke of an ATC system breaks almost every time and you are left in a dead end loop.
The only way I can get the UNS to interact with the EFIS is if you do a DTO to a waypoint from the UNS after painstakingly matching the UNS to what is in the EFB. Then, the EFIS will actually accept it and the plane will go direct to that waypoint, but otherwise the UNS and efis are basically disconnected. Add to a stutter/freeze in the EFIS every couple of seconds and the plane is just annoying to fly.
What did we as customers do to deserve this? Is it disrespect of our loyalty or just that they are essentially a monopoly that inspires them to treat the customer like ■■■■? I would rather this was released in June as a finished product than putting loyal customers through hell trying to get this bug-ridden garbage to work for half a year. SU1 is basically up to a tech alpha release, there are so many problems it isn’t even worth calling a beta yet. SU1 also brought a lot more CTDs, the only thing that spaces them out is deleting the rolling cache and hoping it lasts a while.
What is the hope of Asobo (who is ultimately responsible for 3rd party planes inside the base sim) of ever making this right? Is the 340B almost considered abandonware at this point? I am so disappointed and I have lost all my trust in Asobo providing a quality product.
It’s because they (Jorg, Seb, and that other dude) and their teams obviously aren’t held accountable for their work. It really is as simple as that.
Most people blame Asobo for the state of the default aircraft, but it’s actually Microsoft who commission 3rd party developers to work on the default aircraft. For the S340B they commissioned Carenado.
That said, I can’t even manually enter a flightplan into the FMC, I can only get two waypoints entered and then it won’t accept any more.
Fortunately, I own the PMS50 GTN750 Premium which works perfectly with the S340B and I use the toolbar pop-up GTN750 instead of the buggy FMC/Autopilot in the S340B.
For any other PMS50 GTN750 Premium owners out there, here’s the basic procedure:
Create and save/export your flightplan in Simbrief or the default web flight planner.
Set your initial altitude on the S340B main panel.
Click Accept on the S340B FMC pos init screen.
Launch PMS50 GTN750 Toolbar panel.
Click Flight Plan.
Click Menu.
Click Import.
Click Import from Simbrief or Import from sim ATC as required.
Click OK.
Click the first waypoint after Take(off).
Click Activate Leg.
The flightplan is now imported and active in the S340B FMC.
Can you get the 750 integrated into the panel or is it just a popup, like a 2nd EFB? I liked the integration of the gtn750 into various panels in fs2020.
The plane should be usable without payware addons, but I appreciate that you can fly it with an external GPS orchestrating the aircraft without actually having to interact with the aircraft itself
how do you like the 750 in 2024? It was pretty close to the real deal in the old sim, is there any change?
You can email them to help get the ball rolling. I already did.
It’s a popup only in the S340B, but it’s identical to the FS20 version.
