They effectively are charging money for it with the Aviator Edition. It’s not like the Skyvan wasn’t part of this high priced product and we got it as a freebie on top afterwards…
Like many others, I bought the upgrade to Aviator Edition specifically for all the extra aircraft included with it. They were listed as included content right there with all the native aircraft, and without any disclaimers along the lines of “may only function to some degree” or “for decorative purposes only”. Therefore the terribly sad, dysfunctional state the Skyvan is in (along with the An-225 and several others) is inexcusable.
From a consumer rights perspective, intentionally advertising and selling a product with content which isn’t fit for purpose (like a Flight Simulator including aircraft that cannot take off!) is a textbook case of consumer deception and might even qualify as consumer fraud, depending on the laws of your country.

If MS does not want to fix these issues then why don’t they hand them over to the public domain?
Surely plenty of developers who’ll be willing to have a go at fixing the most egregious problems to make so many fellow simmers happy and USE once defective plane to PLAY msfs2024 (instead of getting more and more frustrated until they decide to give up on MSFS alltogether and move on to a competing product).

Just to chime in and say that please don’t put it on the dev’s of the aircraft. A bunch of us were all made redundant a while back.

Yeah i really did and still do as im mostly still using 2020 (xbox X).
The different varients give a huge scope of flight possibilities and its such a versatile aircraft that just keeps putting a smile on my face every flight.
Fingers crossed 24 gets a fix so i can enjoy it there too. And if you were part of the team that developed it I say a big thank you for the hours of fun I have with it
I wrote the flight model and did all the systems coding on the Skyvan

I’ve been a passenger on one of these. Smallest aircraft I’ve ever been on. I was curios what it was like to ‘fly’. Turns out it’s actually a pretty neat plane. Shame the experience has been tainted. As this aircraft is part of the selling point of a more expensive package, it’s absolutely inexcusable that Asobo hasn’t taken steps to rectify this. I can’t see myself purchasing more than the base game of the next Flight Simulator iteration after seeing how they let many of the base aircraft rot. I’m sorry they’ve left your work in such a state.
