If Microsoft flight sim got Piedmont Loganair and SkyWest as their partners that would make the sim more interesting with the regional aircraft SkyWest Loganair and Piedmont’s history (that would make local legends more interesting also)
definently trying to fix the many many crashes (my game crashes atleast twice per day)
Weather weather weather weather weather
On the checklist, the camera shouldn’t move to show me where the switch is; it should just point to it.
Is there a way to make the pilot and copilot’s weights global for all aircraft, instead of having to enter them for each one.
During the foot inspection, should all removable parts be individually inspected, and vice versa during the post-flight inspection.
Obviously improving performance and stability is an ongoing task, but I’d like to think 85% of the heavy lifting here has been done. The Xbox version for me anyway is as good as it’s ever been. Given this I would like to see some wishlist items and legacy bugs addressed, some career mode focus especially.
Career mode liveries
Choose time of flight in passenger airliners and cargo
747 in heavy cargo, not just oversized cargo
Fine tune maintenance costs, better discounts for manual maintenance and reduce wear and tear rates and costs of engines
Uplift maintenance module, so we can mass maintenance the fleet of the company in 1 click
Improved VIP company to include longer flights like going across the Atlantic in the Cessna’s Citations, 6hr + VIP long hauls
Cargo all over the planet all the time, no more seasonal demand spikes per regions
Mission generator review, major hubs only have 10-12 missions this is far too little
A400 cargo ops
The idea behind your post is of course Very relevant and important.. getting to the underlying cause of things that we need fixed . But haven’t we gotten way off topic? I would be okay if the next update didn’t add anything and if no more world or city updates were released for a year! I would rather see the basic flight Sim specific issues like weather, ATC, air and water physics, etc etc fixed as well. But isn’t that another topic and not reallyadding “dream” features?
I understand your point, and I agree that this may look like a different subject from the usual “Dream Features”.
But that is actually why I posted it here.
If a Dream Feature is simply “what new functionality would you like to see?”, then yes, my post is somewhat different.
But if we interpret a Dream Feature as “what would make MSFS 2024 significantly better for us?”, then I think fixing the foundation belongs here just as much as adding new functionality.
Personally, I would also take a year without new World or City Updates if that meant fixing the underlying problems with weather, ATC, performance, physics, streaming, memory management and other core systems.
Because what is the value of continuously adding new content if the systems underneath it remain unpredictable?
And that’s really the point I was trying to make:
Maybe we should stop thinking only about what we want MSFS 2024 to add, and also ask what we want MSFS 2024 to fix.
To me, that is not really a different Dream Feature.
That could be the most important one
I agree 100% with you on that.
Thank you. That’s exactly what I hoped this post would start: not another discussion about which feature should come next, but a discussion about how we identify and fix the underlying problems.
Yesterday, I launched the A2A Aerostar, but Smart App Control popped up and blocked it from initializing. What happened there? The A2A module tried to “phone home”, and Windows security blocked it. A2A is not the only 3rd party vendor that does this. I won’t bother to itemize them all, but you can figure it out.
What I want is the ability to see what these vendors are doing in the background. Are they using the Simconnect API, or have they written something custom?
And, I would like the ability to turn them off at the Sim level. I don’t want to rely on Windows to catch them in the act.
hdr bloom control. default aircraft bug fixes, better memory management, them going back and working on the fundamentals.
Weather engine , cloud shapes
To improve the awful control mapping menus. I don’t get why it’s so poorly designed. From the general layout of everything to the confusing controller save profiles.
I created runway entrance lights for KMSP. Then along came msfs 2024 and poof. Worldscript was degraded to the point where detection rectangles no longer worked.
In MSFS 2024 SU6.1 multiplayer, even the default liveries for the F-15 and F-16 were displaying incorrectly as airliners or other fighter jets.
It has been nearly two years since launch, yet they haven’t even managed to get the text labels (Aircraft name) to match up correctly—it’s incredibly frustrating.
Will things improve with SU7?
In the default MSFS EFB, we need Nations/Borders in the map, and cities and towns as selectable options in the map settings
Been using the Citation X and that planes EFB is similar to the PMDG one that has borders and names of towns even in the local language and writing. Its a big QOL improvement and something that won’t take long to implement
Honestly, I don’t have a “dream feature” anymore! I just want the most glaring bugs to be fixed!
Namely, the firefighting - Initial Attack - missions. After six (6) Sim Updates and nothing works in these missions, such as:
- Can’t manually start the AT-802 Fire Boss
- Can’t manually tune the AT-802 radios
- Getting 0% on mission completion time when I perform the missions as far as possible (the aircraft can fly faster) and flawlessly (like for example extinguishing the fire with only one water drop)
But this being said, I do have one “dream feature” now:
- Stop the major/big Sim Update patching/improving strategy and release smaller and quicker updates/patches to fix the most glaring issues!
It’s unforgivable that 2 years after FS2024 was released that the Firefighting missions still don’t work!!
Career mode Passive aircraft to get a fairer economy.
Earnings are too low to sustain them with the very high maintenance fees.
Either increase the earnings for passive aircraft, which would be easier or lower wear and tear by a lot.
If the wear and tear for passive aircraft is the same as the one being flown its earnings should be the same!
I just need default erj 135 default erj175LR, and default CRJ 200, plenty of IRL routes to explore with those three aircraft, plus that could open up new airports in online multiplayer, that would also make online KDTW are flights really fun (Having a CRJ 200 on and the default Saab 340B’s at those c gates) erj 135 would work well in career mode because it’s not a must fill up aircraft and the e175LR would be a fun break from flying with Boeing and Airbus aircraft
for the first time in msfs 2024 there is a point when you actually can t think at anything due to the lack of comunication since the last su , from launch you were still know what to expect for the next su but now for the 7 i barelly catch , its mistery
