Yep still broken in this latest beta build
It does work now in the latest beta 1.6.23 according to change logs and tested it in a groupflight.
For reference:
Continuing the discussion from Sim Update 4 Beta (1.6.23.0) Release Notes - November 7, 2025:
Yes this was finally fixed in the latest beta update. Just need approach and landing stutters sorting now.
And the multiplayer aircraft fallback to generic planes, if on “high fidelity” mp aircraft setting and not owning the plane of the other player.
Does it do that on the lower fidelity?
At simpified, you can see all sorts of generic models for all MP nametags, but they usually don’t match the original aircraft yet. And the model changes to another one when the model of a specific plane is reloaded.
Why does the ‘fix” entail a 150 NM tag distance? REALLY? That has been the major complaint. We dont want to see aircraft that far away. Could there not be just a little common sense, and use something around 20 NM? We are never able to fly to get to guys tat are 150 NM out.
I’ve done multiple flights out to people 100nm away from me use them as a mock intercept for fighter jets
I personally like to see it, makes the skies feel less lonely and I often take part in group flights where the queue of flights is staggered. 20nm would be far too short
Even catching up to your group if you took off late 20nm is done in no time
We fly airliners so the distance is maintained but it’s still nice to be able to see them
It’s clear 150 does not work for everyone. I agree that it’s too far away. I’ve no interest in anyone that’s 150nm out. 20 is just fine but I suppose I’d be ok with 40nm. How about a slider so the user can choose.
